The audio on most games on ESPN sounds like it's being recorded in a tunnel.

Uh no NBC is terrible CBS is ok and Fox is pretty good. I’d take ABC, ESPN over NBC and probably CBS

I have always thought Sankey got that deal done way too early. Wait and see what the big ten was going to get before jumping in but he did not do that, as I understand it.

Big ten deals appear to be worth much more than the SEC deals but ratings alone do not justify that discrepancy.

CBS is the worst in cfb in just about every way. IMO, ABC is the best with ESPN-Fox-NBC just meh.

While valid complaints ESPN is the arbiter of truth in college football and sets the narrative.

NBC Fox etc have tried and failed. CBS is a niche.

Right or wrong what ESPN repeats ad nauseam gets reflected in the polls.

The marriage is set and will be ultimately good for the conference’s success

Yeah big ten gets a lot of criticism but they have a much better deal than sec
Sankey got in bed with espn and got played

It’s the main reason espn dumped the big ten acc challenge in hoops as well

Agree completely. Say what you will about CBS, but they played a big part in the SEC becoming the premier conference in CFB. Setting yourself apart is huge for branding. With ESPN we’re just another packaged game on TV. Terrible foresight.

This all day. Sankey only thought about dollar bills. Wish or hope we demanded some upgrades in their production qaulity

When most hear Capitalism they need to hear Game Theory, Fair Markets, and Humanism. Since the 1980's we have been replacing Humanistic Capitalism with a Corporate Monarchy similar to the Hereditary Monarchy we fled Europe (and other parts of the world) to get away from.

SEC Network is what’s fricking us. Those productions are run by students making minimum wage.

Nah. I LIKE SEC Network — that’s where Laura Rutledge is. Much rather watch her than those clowns on ESPN. (except for the peloton girl that always wears the cool hi-tops. Like her, too)

I can’t stand CBS. So glad we’re done with them. The game lasted an hour longer than it should, Verne and Gary drove me up the wall

Totally agree. I always shake my head when people talk about Gary D. loving Bama when most Bama fans can't stand him, whether he likes us or not.

I agree with you. We haven't found a better alternative to markets yet but I find it pretty funny that almost all complaints about things getting worse has this indirect root cause that is just "modern capitalism operating as intended."

Nobody wants their sports broadcasts to be so poorly produced but there is no market signal to make the oligopolies react. You either stop following your favorite team or shovel the shite down your gullet.

My dad is pretty passive about sports in general but even he remarked during the Sugar Bowl that he wasn't sure that the ESPN booth crew was even watching the game. It's gotten so bad even ambivalent viewers notice.

BIg loss for the SEC and a great pickup for the B1G.

Agreed. ESPN is terrible. CBS and FOX are the best.

Yes and may add to its TV deals with further expansion. Leaving the SEC far behind. That's not being anti-SEC but possible.

Yes and it may not be a bright future with Disney looking to unload ESPN.

I told many of you the SEC/ESPN deal was not good for your league but you guys would not listen. It looks like now you are starting to see that I was not lying but telling you the truth.

Capitalism left unchecked will erode the foundation underneath it that allows it to flourish. Regulation isn't the only thing that "checks" capital. A moral anchoring is also sorely lacking these days. No pride in the product, only a lust for profit.

This is correct. I’m all for capitalism, but without a moral foundation, it falls apart quickly.

I don’t know how to describe what I see and hear when watching games on TV, but everything on CBS, FOX and NBC just looks and sounds better than most of what ABC and ESPN put out.

The way the big networks produce games with camera shots just murders most of what ESPN and ABC does. Hell sometimes I can watch an entire ESPN game and not see one shot of the head coach on the sidelines.

I’ve seen better High School produced streams than some of what ESPN puts out
