Damn NFL talent evaluators a hundred times over all missed on this but LSUShock had it.
I think we’d all admit, if we’re being honest, that the talent evaluators are not that great at evaluating talent. Always been bad at it - in all human endeavors. Not just sports.
It’s hard to tell who’s gonna succeed or fail next.

but what is chicken crackling? Is it similar to pork rinds? I normally don't eat that, but I'm sure some people love it.
I don’t eat it either. But …. It’s like this. There was originally cracklins everywhere you stop for gas. Pork cracklins, made locally, basically fried pork skin which was really mostly just a cube of fried pork fat.
Few years back, they started making cracklins with chicken instead. I don’t know what they fry on a chicken to replicate a cube of pork fat, but people swear by it.
But this has nothing to do with “pork rinds” in a bag sold nationally that are very … airy, dry, and light. That’s different.

What classes are the football players in these days?
Who cares?
I couldn’t tell you what classes my own kids were in when they went to college. As long as they finish, that’s their business.
Same with LSU football players.

Any time an application requires maintaining indoor temps below 68 and low humidity, you are talking about spending big to make that happen, especially when you get to Spring and early Summer in the South.
This here. What I wanna hear is …. what sense does it make to have the Winter Classic in Florida? SOUTH Florida …. and outside.
What’s the ice like for THAT game?

re: Should LSU (or the SEC as a whole) have an ice hockey team?
Posted by p226 on 1/13/26 at 6:14 pm to Garlicsauce
It’s been explained by multiple hockey fans already - y’all just wanna win an argument instead of learning about hockey.
there’s not enough skilled high school kids in the South to build successful D-1 hockey programs.
There’s no ice in Baton Rouge - same for most/all other SEC schools. And it would take MULTIPLE hockey rinks.
All these NHL teams ( Dallas, Florida, Nashville, Charlotte. NC) have players from Canada, Russia, extreme northern US. Your whole team would be from another country.
Just because it’d be cool to watch doesn’t necessarily mean you or anyone you know can PLAY.
There’s no hockey culture here.

just got a commitment from the best QB in LSU history
You new or something? Just started watching CFB?
The best QB in LSU history graduated already. He plays for the Cincinnati Bengals now.
He does things like this these days.

Took a lot of guts to leave his ND safe-space. He rolled the dice and lost.
No man. He left ND for a raise and guaranteed contract. There was no risk to him at all.
He’ll get paid $10mil a year for the term of the contract.
Might not be LSU paying it out. Might be LSU. But SOMEBODY will pay him.

That was three years ago. Doesn’t mean Jack shite.
Yep. The reason why Walker Howard isn’t an answer is because … in 3 years, he hasn’t played.
He transferred to UL, got the start, and then was injured and out for the season.
So, I think at this point, the game has passed him by.

Might as well let the players drive tanks around the field...huh?
This thread shows why CFP is the way it is now. Because enough soft and squishy people are now out there to support it.
Some in this thread appreciate the game the way it was. Others look down their nose at it because it was ….. what …. too violent? Not sporting?
It’s a shame.

Another way to look at it - The top players from their classes went to the NFL 3 years ago.
The NFL just has to hate this. When are they gonna go to Congress and demand sanity.
CFP was always supposed to be a farm system for the NFL. Now that CFP is building a rich competitor, gotta figure the NFL tries to stop it.

I sure as hell don’t know how this will turn out but the only thing certain is we are NOT getting both those guys.
But if we did … Lane Kiffin would truly be THE Portal King.
It would be epic.

Shouldn’t LSU stay far away from this? Why take on drama when we are at the 1 yard line with Leavitt?
Because it’s fun. Give your balls a tug.

what's next
I think …..
CFB will keep getting worse and worse, and like you said-eligibility requirements go away- the NFL will go to Congress and demand protection from the competition that CFB poses to their league.
If a player can get 3-5-7 million a year in college, and get waivers for years, that’s a problem for the NFL.
Imagine if all the best CFB QBs did what Trinidad Chambliss is trying to do at OM right now. Tbe NFL would have a QB shortage.
