How about your team actually GO to the playoffs first. Then go again. Maybe win something.
THEN you can get up on your cross and whine that the “people in charge” are persecuting you.
Oh, and since you’re new to this - tell the gay milkmen to stay home for the playoffs.

the people who run LSU / the state are NOT the smartest people in the room
People who “run” things rarely are. And….smart people can’t run shite. It’s two totally different talents.

it’s a total crap show behind the scenes.
So what? Totally honest-how many times in YOUR professional life has things NOT been a total shite show.
That’s why people get paid high salaries to do 70 hour a week jobs. To manage bad situations. Keep the show running.
When things AREN’T a shite show, they start “automating”, “outsourcing”, or “offshoring”.
It would have been better to keep all that behind the scenes, not run to random microphones in the heat of the moment with ill informed rants and cheesy sound bites.
But, this “chaos” is how the world works.

But, BK took LSU to court.

How you figure? The governor is running certain functions of a state university because the University President left for a new job.
That’s literally the way it’s supposed to work.
You can rightly point out that the governor is not doing it well, and is ill informed, but ….. he’s elected by the people to the office, and he’s doing what he’s supposed to.

43 mil looks like the present value of 53 mil at a ~4% discount rate. So that is not a deal for LSU as they could just invest the 43 today and cover the payouts themselves. LSU want's a reduced payout.
There it is. He offered PV of the full amount in the contract.
LSU wants to pay less? Why? For what reason should Kelly take less?
quote:
They’re offering buyouts, Dave
No, they’re not. They’re saying, very publicly, we didn’t really fire you last week. No matter what you heard us say, we didn’t really fire you then. We’re actually firing you now, for cause.

So … you just admitted LSU has no cause. This is so stupid.
Even if LSU wins the case against Kelly, the program loses.

ROTFL.
quote:
This will never get to Discovery. Both sides will come to an agreement shrouded in non-disclosure perpetuity. Kelly runs off to an Analyst gig, LSU moves on with a bloody nose and not hemorrhaging cash
You think Kelly gives up $10mil or more just because LSU doesn’t feel like paying? Kelly’s got nothing but time now. And he’s got a strong case. And he’s an arse.
Only way this gets settled is if LSU just pays the man.
This is stupid.

situation is as ugly as it gets
No, It can get uglier. you'll see. they'll show you just how embarrassing and childish it can get.
it can get waaaaay uglier than this.
re: At what point do coaches back away from LSU’s job opening?

I think that point is reached when the previous coach files suit to get his money.

re: How many YDs does Green pickup Saturday?

Marcel Reed is averaging 5.5 yds/carry this season. And he ran for over 100 yards in TS week before last.
So….if Green averages a little more yards per carry — around 100-150 yards seems like a reasonable estimate if nothing changes.

He gets $54 mil, but WHEN?
The when matters tremendously. If you could pay that to me 6 years from now, it’s worth about $30mil in one lump sum today.
If you owed ME that much money over the next 5-6 years, I’d DEFINITELY take some amount less than that in one payment tomorrow morning.
There’s time value to money people.

This is a meaningless stat comparing Nuss vs MVB
I agree. So let’s play MVB some more, see what we have with him.
I think most of Nuss problems come from playing behind an OLine that sucks. It fricked his head up.
But, we need to see if MVB is serviceable, and if he’ll stay around next season.
quote:
I am SHOCKED that Kelly is being an arse about this.
frick CBK. But, he’s not being an arse. He is owed the full agreed upon amount written down in the contract he and LSU signed.
The only question now is whether LSU pays $53Mil over 6 (or is it 5) years, or if LSU pays him some lesser amount right now.
It’s a time value of money problem. That’s it. Know what I mean. $53 mil 5 years from now is worth some amount less than that right now today.
He’s not being an arse.
