re: Ever notice how great a coach is coming to LSU and how lousy they are leaving?
Posted by p226 on 12/25/25 at 1:11 pm to tigereye58
This is so obvious -
If a coach WEREN’T lousy, he wouldn’t be leaving.
So br definition, a coach leaving LSU will necessarily be lousy.
All things end badly, or they wouldn’t end.
If a coach is doing good at LSU, why would he leave? LSU isn’t like Tulane where coaches prove themselves and move up to a bigger program.

TIME!!!! YEARS!
So how about we all just give the man 2-3 seasons before we start this shite on here?
He hasn’t coached a god damned game yet.
You people are completely miserable.

Still waiting to hear the inevitable “39 scholarship players…in the whatever bowl game”
I bet there are STILL people who would seriously say that this is all Ed Orgeron’s fault - 5 years after he’s been gone.
When can we all just move on from Ed Orgeron? Like it’ll never be over.

Not the only tenable solution.
Could also just make G5 conferences compete for FCS championship like all the other lower tier D1 schools do.
How’d the Sunbelt/AAC/C-USA get into FBS anyway?

how big of a sample size of winning do you need to exhibit before you can become a respected program?
I think your team has to win a conference championship (OR a CFP game) more than once under a single coach. And then do it again under the next coach.
The PROGRAM has to be successful under different coaches. And over several seasons.

It’s not JUST money. I think it’s high school programs that feed your program, too.
Georgia and Louisiana churn out D1 football players because there’s a place for them to play in college AND they learned to play in high school.
We have all these athletes in Louisiana… but we don’t produce many great soccer players. Plenty of water, but we don’t produce lotta swimmers like Florida does.
Yea, spend money, but also start helping high school programs in your state.

small conference team deserves some time in the spotlight. Texas would have done no better.
Ok. But, shouldn’t it be their OWN spotlight? G5 conferences are not the same game. It’s like watching JV teams play varsity teams in high school.
I heard them say last night, not a single 5 star recruit plays in the Sunbelt.
Oregon’s whole team is just 2-3 steps faster than JMU at everything.
Maybe JMU versus Tulane would have been a great game.

OU gonna beat Bama.
Ole Miss gonna kick the HELL outta Tulane.
I don’t know how you see Tulane winnin that. I’ll give you a pass … figure you haven’t seen Tulane play this year.
It’s an SEC team playing a G5. 2 totally different levels of football.

The BOZ! I loved that guy when he played au OU. The haircut, the attitude, all the “buzz”. And when he’d play, he’d wreck people.
He was awesome ….. until he met Bo Jackson in the NFL.
All the air kinda went out of the Boz persona in one play on Sunday.
I learned a lot from that.
