don't care who dominated....they are simply a bad team over the last several years.....that could change though i know.
I'm just saying it's always been kind of lopsided streaks and it has never affected the rivalry. UT will get better eventually, they are too big of a program not to bounce back.

You see what I meant about the series cancellation now?

I'm pretty sure that after you've played a team 50 times (LSU leads the series 27-20-3), roots have taken hold.

despite what the aggies will try to say their rival will always be texas.
This is probably what all Arkansas fans said when yall joined the SEC.

I'm 99% sure Floyd Raven didn't have an LSU offer. You stole him from Ole Miss.

I may be wrong on the LSU/Aggie history, I don't know much about their past.
yeah you are. but its ok. i dont really care about renewing any rivalry with A&M to be honest. Their weird and i have no desire to road trip it to college station.

Rivalries are like nicknames, the good ones aren't forced, they just happen.
A&M won't be a true "rival" to anyone in the SEC until we win a few games against them.
If A&M and Texas quit playing each other yearly, I guarantee that Aggies will have their hands full in the SEC and will turn their attention to SEC West schools. Playing Texas in the random Cotton Bowl will become a novelty, like listening to your old Uncle's stories at family get-togethers.

ETA: (I've been informed there is a good bit of history if your old)
You have to be old to know about history?
Here's a small bit of LSU-A&M history for all of you infants out there( ):
Billy Cannon- our only Heisman Trophy Winner- had a son (Billy Jr.) who was a top LBer recruit out of Baton Rouge in the very early '80s. When the time came to sign, he signed with Texas A&M. he went on to become an All-American. Go figure.
He later became a Dallas Cowboy, but his career ended with a spinal injury, IIRC,

Semi-equal quality programs, sure LSU is better and will probably remain that way most of the time, but A&M should get better and it's not like they are LA Tech.
I think I'm going to have to dispute this one.
aTm doesn't have a bad program, but LSU football actually did have some good years before 2000.

Oh, it won't take much time at all--plenty of shared history between A&M and LSU. Throw in proximity, ad the fact that both were land grant colleges, and how our last series with them ended, and there's gonna be some bad blood real quick. My dad (Aggie class of '83) still has a hatred of the Tigers that is unhealthy, to say the least
Can't wait to reboot the series with y'all, in all honesty.

Wow so much butt hurt from the A&M fanbase over something that happened almost 25 years ago.... It would have to be competitive for it to become a rivalry and A&M isn't there. This is the reason no LSU fan under the age of 60 even cares about the Ole Miss " rivalry ".

Don't they teach simple math in Louisiana?
2011-1996 = 15 years.

I'm thirty, and I grew up hating the Aggies. Know pretty much every Aggie joke there is.
I dislike them more than half the teams in the SEC.

I thought he went there b/c A&M was the only school that would take Billy Cannon's money.

Not reading the whole thread. But LSU has played ATM more often than LSU has played a number of other SEC teams.
Yes, there is a history there. And yes, I am happy to get away from that contrived LSU-Arky 'rivalry'.
