I like how I get downvoted for having actual football discussion.

This board used to actually discuss football.
Good post OP.

It's an interesting matchup. One one side, Arkansas has easily been the better team through three weeks, but I think most Hog fans will admit they have their concerns. On the A&M side, we've looked pretty bad, but have the talent to turn things around. Especially after getting some needed continuity on the OL and guys returning from injuries and suspensions.

I worry about the Hogs ability to take advantage of our Mike LB position which is being played by a backup right now who looked pretty poor against Miami. We also need to develop a pass rush. As talented as these DL are, it takes time to learn more than just one pass rush move.

If A&M can continue to progress on offense and manage to get the ball in space to guys like Achane, Stewart and Smith, they can easily take advantage of a poor tackling secondary. I think our defense is talented enough to limit their offense enough to give us a shot to win, but we have to start executing on offense.
The real question is if your team will luck your way into the playoffs again and then proceed to get your asses handed to you? You know, tradition and all.

So now Jimbo rejecting the LSU job to stay at A&M is evidence that the LSU job is better than the A&M job

It’s hard to watch, honestly. However, it’s to be expected from an SEC bottom feeder.

I’m actually fairly nervous for this game. If Corral comes out hot and puts y’all ahead a couple scores, it could be a long night.
I like him as a coach, but the recruiting would be a serious concern for me as an Auburn fan.

Both teams play solid defense.

Both teams are somewhat hamstrung on offense, but capable of having a big day.

Both teams have pretty good special teams despite Auburn's recent performance with Ole Miss.

I think A&M has an edge with with better overall talent and depth, but Auburn certainly has the edge with a more experienced QB.

Should be a great game.

It’s November 4th. What are you talking about? You think we’re announcing a new HC while the best options are in the middle of their seasons?

As I said, its clear Jimbo has already told Woodward no and that he was the #1 choice. Think about the timing of our raise to Jimbo this year. Woodward was pursuing Jimbo before the season even started just like he did when he was at FSU.

LSU hasn't been turned down by anyone.

Yes you have. It's obvious to everyone that Fisher has already told Woodward no and Scott is getting all creepy about it and won't let it go. Jimbo was Woodward's one and only choice a few years ago at A&M and there's nothing that's changed in that regard today.

Aggy

At what point will you realize that LSU is a better job even it has 6 straight losing seasons. Our last three coaches won NCs. Two of them were borderline idiots. Two never coordinated an offense or defense, let alone call a game. They still won NCs. Better look at the per capita data on NFL players home states. We have no in state competition. This is why Saban took the job despite LSU having 8 losing seasons in 11 years. This is why he won the SEC in year 2 and the NC in year 4. LSU will get who ever it wants.

You just hired and fired Orgeron, a guy no one wanted as a HC, and have been obviously turned down by one if not multiple candidates this time around. Woodward will likely make a solid hire, but you aren't getting you're #1 or possibly #2 choices.

Besides, jimbo has hit his ceiling with the aggies.

Four years in and the tamu faithful are talking about how great the program is doing and how Jimbo has them positioned well…. All while ignoring the fact that they have two losses before playing a single game in November.

The guy lost his starting QB two games in while also replacing four starters on the OL. Why is that so hard for some to understand? shite happens, but to pretend like Jimbo isn't clearly ascending this program is ignorance.
Focus on your own loser coach and program, sir.

Our run game does exactly what we need it to do. Teams have to respect Spiller and Achane because they will get yards and are a threat to take one into the end zone every time they touch the ball. That allows us to keep the secondary honest and take advantage of mismatches with our TE, Ainias Smith, or our RBs slipping out against a LB.

This is correct.
Nail biter with Kansas has you pretty hot and bothered fella.

Of all the tough, gut wrenching, heart breaking ways Arkansas has managed to lose games in this series over the past decade, tomorrow's loss for them will be the hardest.

They actually believe in themselves because they beat three cellar dwellers.
Overheard an old timer hog fan talking to his young grandson about the last time they beat A&M. Poor little squirt started to cry over how much A&M has dominated them. Old timer cried a bit too. It was sad because they knew it wouldn’t be any different this weekend. The end.
1. Arkansas outrushed us last year, didn't matter. You won't be able to consistently sustain drives against this defense.

2. We've definitely had some issues with runs up the middle, but we've also had new faces at LB and two DL starters out for various amounts of time due to suspension. Both starters are back including our best DT. Elko has notoriously been great against the run as a DC.

It could certainly be an issue on Saturday, but I don't think it will matter much as you won't get much through the air and that will make your offense predictable as the game wears on.

This is not very welcoming Tom for our new conference mates. They've assured us they will most certainly be back by the time they join the league.
