Recruits for both are consitantly on the line, we almost had Russell Shepard.

I hope you are kidding. I can't speak for the future, but I can guarantee you that LSu hasn't lost more than 5 players to Texas A&M over the past 10 years, if that many, if LSU really wanted the player and offered. I love the we "almost" had russell shepard. I don't know if you a&m flamers woke up on the wrong side of the bed today or something, but it's all we need is another SEC W team thinking they are actually revevant (ole miss, arky, now a&m)...geez.

We tried, but since the 1996 game was supposed to be in Baton Rouge, the case would have been heard in Louisiana if at all. Back then, Bush was the Governor, not Perry.

It was originally an eight year contract, which was extended for four more years I believe.

For a history of the LSU/Aggie series, see this article:

dude...why the a&m shite...you guys aren't relevant at all...you get beat by every sec team you play. Win a few games before you earn the write to speak directly to any of us, not just lsu. Seriously. come in quiet and prove yourself. It's not like you have some awesome program you are bringing in. geez.

How many times have you played florida over the last 10 years in the game?

Well in the SEC championship game over the last ten years, twice. But Bama has played Florida a lot (13 times) over the last 20 or so years considering they are in the east.

Plus Bama has two big rivalry games already, if we lose UT or Auburn. LSU might become considered a rivalry by more of our fans.

The "rivalries" will be between the teams who are best over a period of time. LSU and Arkansas is starting to become a real grudge match because usually, there is something significant on the line for one or both of the teams when they meet.

A&M would like a rival but we'll have to see if it happens. Texas didn't even consider A&M its main rival. Texas always considered OU its first rival and in the SWC days, Arkansas was their second most hated rival with A&M being third. A&M was never enough of a threat to Texas for them to be a true rival.

my question was the last 10 years. LSU plays florida every year. It looks like this will be our third time to play Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. The other two have been Tenn. Usually in our good years we knock florida out of it, since we play them every year. I understand the UT stuff, but seriously, they need to get a little better to have any fire in that rivalry.

Pretty sure it would have to be in the U.S. Supreme Court, if at all, as it would be one State suing another. (Both are public state institutions)

5. Hatred for one another, this may take some time cause the aggies are being all sweet right now, but I think it will happen.
Not much time. Hatred for them is still fresh from the 80s.

Usually? It takes both teams being good to be a real rivalry, not just one. If and when the SEC title is on the line, then it will mean something. Until then, you just have smoke and mirrors for maintaining it is 'USUALLY' something on the line. In 2007 LSu had something on the line, not a conf title but a national title. Arky had nothing. In 2008 both were garbage. In 2009, there was really nothing. In 2010, a sugar bowl...and while lsu would have like to gone, we have done it 4 times in the previous 9 years leading up to that bowl game. Again, there was no conference title on the line or shot at NC. I would imagine LSU and Arky look at the word "significant" a little differently.

The UT rivalry with Bama has typically gone with one team winning for a good while, and then the other one winning for a good while.

UT dominated these periods:

1955 1956 1957 1958

1967 1968 1969 1970

1982 1983 1984 1985

1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2003 2004 2006

Bama Dominated these:

1961 1962 1963 1964 1966

1972 1973 1974 1975 1976 1977 1978 1979

1988 1989 1990 1991 1992 1993 1994

2007 2008 2009 2010

And so forth...
