This is the reason I think a&m will become a bigger rival than Arkansas. Lots if lsu grads wind up in Houston, not so much for Fayetteville. familiarity breeds contempt, or whatever the saying is.

For A&M to really have a rivalry with LSU... A&M has to become a threat to LSU

Maybe true, but all it takes is a bad coaching hire by LSU and a good coaching hire by A&M.

it was a 10 year contract...period. I don't think you really want to come over here and talk crap to the real SEC...haven't you gotten your arse whipped enough by the SEC lately...especially the beatdown lsu put on you after your 6 game winning streak last year....please.

We're only threats to teams in the First Half, ask Arky and T. Boone about that. Hell... Field Goal Tommy Tubb almost proved it too.

Hatred for one another, this make take some time cause the aggies are being all sweet right now, but I think it will happen.

First, LSU has to pay back the half million they owe for cancelling the series. Under the contract, THEY had to prove that they had a suitable replacement. NE Louisiana (or whoever it was) doesn't count.

There were 2 games remaining on the contract when LSU cancelled it.

I think some of y'all consider it a rivalry, but most Bama fans just consider it a tough game. Kinda like Florida with us playing them in every SEC championship game we've been to.

I agree with this. I can see A & M being our rival, and god knows we need one.

First, LSU doesn't have to pay jack. You can't bring it against us in court, so you have no leg to stand on. Second, the team we found to replace us beat yall.

Recruits for both are consitantly on the line, we almost had Russell Shepard.

Christine Michael had it down to LSU/Texas/ and TAMU... Glad we got him.

bama is the same for us, but we play florida every year, and over the last several the outcome was significant for each team. How many times have you played florida over the last 10 years in the game? twice? I mean once upon a time tulane was a rivalry for lsu....so was ole miss. times change.....Once upon a time bama dominated the SEC West.....times change.

The contract was renewed for 10 years starting in the 1988 season. Last time I checked, if the last game was 1995, that would be 8 seasons, not 10. Therefore, cancelled.

NO Times Picayune says otherwise.

quote:

Texas A&M contributed to the LSU woes in that stretch. LSU won the 1990 meeting, but the Aggies took the next five, which also were the last five games between the schools before LSU cancelled the series with two games remaining after the 1995 game in College Station.

Wonder why yall never brought it to court? You aren't ever going to see that money even if you do deserve it.

They're again proving that its only possible to count to 10 east of the Sabine, they don't know any of the higher numbers.
