Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz announced Sunday that star running back Ahmad Hardy will return to practice this week for the first time since suffering a gunshot wound in May.
"After consulting with our medical team, Ahmad Hardy will return to practice this week," Drinkwitz wrote on social media. "Our medical staff will determine his return to game action."
Hardy was shot in the upper leg while attending a concert in Mississippi on May 10 and underwent surgery. He has missed all seven games this season while recovering.
The All-American running back led the SEC with 1,649 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns last season.
There is currently no timetable for Hardy's return to game action. Missouri (5-2) travels to Arkansas on Saturday, October 31.
