Skyline chili, good. Also, all chili… good. I think chili is like pizza. I like all variations of it.
Bashing one chili over another is just dumb, IMO. Like bashing one supermodel over another… why?
Goetta is good.

Can someone tell me why it's not good? I've never had it, never been to Ohio, or Kentucky. But it looks like it's just spaghetti with meat sauce with some cheese on top? How bad could it be?
It has nothing to do with Kentucky.....majority of folks in Kentucky have never heard of it or tried it...can't try it if there are no restaurants here.

Goetta, scrapple…it’s called different things regionally.
It’s just meat that was stretched by grinding & adding grain during hard times. Lots of good food with the same origins

Bro...
Skyline Chili locations
354 E. Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356
2850 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40509
And those are just the two near Lexington. Looks like Northern KY and areas near Louisville have a ton of these places.

I actually love chili served the Cincinnati way, i.e. over spaghetti with beans, onions, cheese. etc., but not so much the Cincinnati chili itself.

Yeah, I guess the trifecta of great Cincinnati delectable delights, is Mock Turtle Soup--- get yourself a calf's head, preferably detached from the body, scald off the hair and boil until the horn is tender, slice off fat & meat, use the brain, pour in red wine and a bunch of other shite and reportedly you have some good eat'n. I'll pass.
Sounds like one of those “don’t knock it til you try it” type things

quote:Correct. Bunch of amateurs up in here eating a Skyline frozen meal or our of the can. Of course that shite isn't the same as at the restaurant.
The Skyline Chili is supposed to be served over a bed of cooked spaghetti noodles with red beans, Skyline hot sauce, fresh cut onion, a layer of chili, shredded cheddar cheese, and topped with oyster crackers. It's pretty tasty if served correctly.
My wife is from Columbus.
I believe I'm going to go get some for dinner because of this thread now.

Hes out in Owensboro. For reference, what you're saying is like if you live in Charleston down there and go "but dude, they're all over Charlotte." ITS A good 3 to 3 and half hours to get out there.
Hell it's a 5 to 6 hr drive to the far part of the state here, from Lexington. I can be in Atlanta or Cleveland faster than I can get to the farthest part of KY.

Agreed. I have had it quite a few times and, despite what the board gourmands think, is quite tasty. I like it with all the traditional toppings and I also add jalapenos and sour cream.

Man northern KY is Cincinnati lol.....Outside of Lexington and most of Louisville most Kentuckians haven't had it nor have heard of it....I live in Western Kentucky, we Southern Kentuvky and far Eastern Kentucky don't know of it unless they've seen northern ky folks post on message boards about it.

Outside of NKY, Lex, and Louisville?
The NKY, Lex, Louisville triangle contains like 90% of Kentucky's population. By definition, you are the outlier at that point.

Goetta is good. Cincinnati chili, on the other hand, should die in a fire. In fact, maybe that’s what happened to it.
