Skyline chili sucks something aweful. It's flavored loose meat packed in water.

I ate at Skyline once to try it out. It was....weird. The chili itself wasn't that good - I think the novelty is it being served over pasta with a crazy amount of grated cheddar cheese on top of it.

The Skyline Chili is supposed to be served over a bed of cooked spaghetti noodles with red beans, Skyline hot sauce, fresh cut onion, a layer of chili, shredded cheddar cheese, and topped with oyster crackers. It's pretty tasty if served correctly.

My wife is from Columbus.

All sausage in England has oats or barley in it. Not that bad.

Yeah, I guess the trifecta of great Cincinnati
delectable delights, is Mock Turtle Soup---
get yourself a calf's head, preferably detached
from the body, scald off the hair and boil until the
horn is tender, slice off fat & meat, use the brain, pour in red wine
and a bunch of other shite and reportedly you
have some good eat'n. I'll pass.

That sounds like something a kid in elementary school would make from a school lunch buffet.

Oatmeal used as “hamburger helper” for sausage, basically a stretcher for the poors

Gold Star and Skyline is not real chili

One of those food items Ohians opt for coming home from a night out on the town late at night.

Skyline Chili is just nasty! I get the 3 way thing, although I don't really want my chili over spaghetti - but at least with the proper chili it tastes good. Plenty of places serve it, but damn dog barf would be better than Skyline Chili. I would try the sausage, hell plenty of sausages use rice, and that just absorbs the protein flavor. I could probably be ok with that, just not that crap they call chili!

Skyline Chili. It tastes like it has cinnamon in it. It's gross.

Never had this but it kind of sounds like a version of sausage meatloaf. Probably pretty good.

Yep. Cincinnati style chili done right is pretty darn good.

Skyline is 3am cheap drunk food. It's like the Taco Bell of Cincinnati Chili. Fine for what it is, but not a good representation of the real thing.

Can someone tell me why it's not good? I've never had it, never been to Ohio, or Kentucky. But it looks like it's just spaghetti with meat sauce with some cheese on top? How bad could it be?

Goetta sounds pretty good. I'd like to try it.

Skyline Chili is absolutely disgusting. One of my best friends from the Army is from Cinci metro and has had me try it twice. Hated it both times. Sickeningly sweet. Cinnamon? No zip/edge at all. Noodles?

FULL FAIL.

The zip comes from the generous amount of fresh chopped onions you're supposed to put on top right before you eat it.

The chili is supposed to be mild to balance out the onion.
