Georgia moved the ball in the 4th Qtr because the refs never called the blatant holding on their LT and they got away with a false start on 4th and 2 play near the goal line...which would have led to a FG attempt. SEC called up the refs and said....ok, Dawgs can't lose this game.

Georgia was sleepwalking for two quarters. They though they were playing San Jose State and they finally woke up and it was deep into the second half.

Tennessee won't be that lucky, Georgia knows exactly who they are dealing with.

Mizzou got some early turnovers to take the lead.

From there, UGA moved the ball easily but kept having to kick FGs inside the 10.

Mizzou’s offense on the other hand would mostly struggle but would get one chunk play or penalty that allowed them to kick a 50 yard FG.

Total yards:
Georgia- 492
Mizzou- 284

Georgia outplayed them the whole game, Mizzou was just very opportunistic.

This is 100% false, Mizzou led the entire game until late in the 4th Qtr....you needed officials to help you

Let it be known that Georgia players said 59,000 Missouri fans made for the most SEC environment they played in in 2 years.

Goes a ways to showing we belong.

Wow! That's pretty amazing. I was at the game and we were certainly enthusiastic but realize it was a crowd of only about 58K. That's good for us but pales in comparison to some other venues you visit.

I think it was more about UGA expecting a cupcake and the cupcake never arrived than it was about what Mizzou did.

You know, you hear this a lot when one team does unexpectantly well against another. I would imagine it could possibly be a factor that the players expected to win, but you know Smart wasn't saying in practice all week "take it a little easy this week baws, we're playing Missouri"

UGA didn't have any problems when they hit the panic button in the 4th quarter.

You think they were just conserving their energy for those last 14 minutes when the two TD drives started or do you think our D got a little winded?

Me, I think somewhere in the 2nd quarter or at least by half they knew they had a fight on their hands and still they only put up 6 in the 3rd quarter.

Our defense played a really good game plain and simple.

Not much to it. Get in their backfield and disrupt their timing, both run and pass. And hope your offense stays on the field long enough to let the defense get some rest. You probably won't have any problem with the latter point.

There were a few factors:

1) They adjusted their run scheme the 2nd half we absolutely failed to counter. Can't blame being tired as the D struggled vs the UGA run almost the entire 2nd half.

2) Drink inexplicably called a crap ton of pass plays and few run plays the 2nd half which did put our D in a terrible position and wore them out.

3) UGA players were very lethargic until that fake FG call. If kirby hadn't made that call, I dont think UGA wins the game but he knew his team needed a spark to set them off and that did it.

It includes a 3:30pm start at Neyland last year.
I think a 3:30pm start at jordan-hare last year.
There aren't a ton of big time environments in the 2 years. But being more impactful than Auburn and Tennessee says something.

Out of everything, it was the outside pass rush that impressed me the most for Mizzou. We have the same tackles that stuffed Bama in the NCG. And Mizzou was winning the speed rush consistently.
We have 2 NFL tackles. I hadn't seen anything like it.

I think it should be noted that the 2nd beat WR in the SEC in Dom Lovett got hurt against Georgia in the first half.

If he doesn’t get hurt, I honestly feel like we win that game. He is so important to our offense.

Weird. I see halftime stats like

Total yard - UGA 182, mizzou 194
rushing yards - UGA 33, mizzou 65
TOP - UGA 13:24, mizzou 16:36
Fumbles - UGA 2, mizzou 0
average yard per play - uga 5.2, mizzou 6.1

I honestly don't remember the second half being so lopsided yardage wise. It was one of the most frustrating games for me to watch. I almost turned it off a couple of times.

I'm not sure why people can't say, "Mizzou had a great gameplan and should get credit." Y'all played a great game and almost ruined our season.

Bama and Auburn fans approve this message.

Quit trying so hard to fit into the SEC.
You made it already.

Georgia did something when approaching the LOS in the 4th quarter, too, that masked what formation and playcall they were going to execute. Can't remember it, but I can't recall seeing it before.

I remember thinking "Georgia is having to resort to something weird instead of lining up and just beating us"

but also thinking

"They have a really connected offense to be able to change all of the movement/behavior pre-snap and execute it so well."

I'm very surprised your players said that about the atmosphere. We usually get ripped on for having a high school stadium.

A lot of the mizzou success was from the home field crowd noise.. we weren't able to audible and mizzou was jumping our snap count most of the game. Players are saying that is the loudest away game we have seen in two years.

But that doesn’t fit the narrative around here of Mizzou having a terrible fanbase. Sure, it’s not the most diehard, but Faurot is fun for a big game or when we are fielding a competitive team. It’s just been a barren run for about five years without a whole lot to get excited about. Happens to the best of programs, check out the crowd at an FSU game this season.

Our coaching staff lives and dies by it. I remember it being the #1 defensive stat for a few nfl teams about 5 years ago.

Are you wondering about their defensive line or their kicker?

Either way he wasn't asking you jackshit. When he starts wondering about high chromosome counts and low literacy rates, he'll call the hogs.
