re: TP-Link AC1200 vs Linksys AC1200 to use for OpenVPN - notsince98
I'm not using a server to host the vpn service. Want to use my own router to do it. It must be behind the ATT BGW320-500
It would be easier to setup the server on a computer than the routers but yes. To answer your question you'll need to verify whichever router you use support...
I think you have to pay for it ...NordVPN I want to use the free OpenVPN
I ran an OpenVPN server on my home server with zero issues using AT&T gateways. They work just fine with OpenVPN. If you are hosting your own server, there are 3 ports you need to forward, if I remember r...

re: TP-Link AC1200 vs Linksys AC1200 to use for OpenVPN - notsince98
Bypassing the router/gateway is not really possible in most situations. The best you can do is use "ip passthrough" mode on the at&t gateway. Having said that, I have used VPN on my at&t BGW320 and the BGW210 before that with no issues. If you can't get a VPN to work, it isn't the gateway's faul...
What I'm really curious about though is in bad storms or post hurricane. Post Ida, my ATT line got knocked down and wasnt restored for close to 2 months. Would 1 major benefit of running a 5G internet be that it would be back almost instantly after power was restored to the tower?
...

re: Are there Battery Storage options for home that doesn't require solar panels? - notsince98
I don't have space for a generator...I assume the battery wouldn't take up much room and would hang on the garage wall, near the electrical panel...
Battery packs sized for a house backup are massive. The rectifiers and inverters are also not small....

re: Cox Internet Gigablast vs. AT&T Fiber Internet 1000 - notsince98
It's the limited tcp/ip functionality of their device's controller that got it sent back. I need the ability to run more than one ssh instance per host in my house and the controller on that device does not allow that. IP passthrough is just NAT for hardware to mirror the host IP to the ot...
Will you be able to install as an update in those links?
If you go to settings/system/check for update and manually hit the "check for update" button, it should ask you if you want to install Android 13. Having said that, if you want to sideload the OTA patch (it should udpate e...
