The Big 10 is NOT giving up the NYC TV market (Rutgers) for St Louis/KC.

NYC TV market (Rutgers)

Nobody cares about Rutgers in NYC. Hell, nobody cares about college sports in NYC.

I love the SEC but I always thought Mizzou was a better fit in the Big 10.

Can we get some links to the story?

Also with media changes think it is less about market

Missouri is a much better fit for the B10.

Hope it happens.

Kick them out and add Clemson.

The East needs a true Alpha.

Move Vandy to the West. The east keeps Kentucky as its punching bag.

Then MAYBE the East will stack up to the west.

Pull Clemson or North Carolina into the East.

They barely care about pro sports. Even the NFL teams don't actually play in New York.

Mizzou is in the SEC?

I almost forgot about them.. They were that speed bump we ran over in the 2013 game in Atlanta right?

The Rutgers TV market does not exist. It's a myth, like Mizzou pulling St. Louis ratings to some measurable level.

Ok, maybe our speed bump was more like a dirt pile we had to bottom the truck out to get over it. Semantics at this point.

It’s true, the most recent ABC influx of cash to the SEC was just too large for us to accept.

Now they we are finally gaining some momentum in recruiting by selling playing in the best conference and spending over $160,000,000 on facilities we are actually going to join the Southlans conference.

thought after the last round of expansions, there were airtight memberships that cost millions for the programs to leave.

Any SEC school can leave w/out penalty...we're not big babies like the ACC

The OP is obviously FOS.Financially it makes zero sense. The new SEC TV deal is gonna bring in close to $60 million+ to the school and IF they were invited to the BIG they wouldn't be fully vested for at least 5 years...which means a smaller cut of the conference revenue pie.

It's almost like there should be a conference for Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Missouri, Colorado, Kansas, Kansas St, & Iowa St.

I’m actually good with that. Mizzou belongs with Nebraska. Y’all were always a poor fit in the SEC, and Rutgers was a terrible fit for the big 10. I think both programs come out ahead.

The only question is whom the SEC would replace Mizzou with:
West Virginia
NC State
Memphis
Louisiana Tech
ULL
Tulane
Texas
TCU
Oklahoma
Florida St
Louisville

I think West Virginia is the most realistic, but Texas or Florida St would be my first pics.

Imagine:
Big 10 kicks out Rutgers and Maryland and adds Mizzou, Kansas, Kansas St, and Iowa St
ACC adds Notre Dame full time, and Maryland
SEC loses Mizzou and grabs West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Ok St (Auburn slides East)
PAC 12 adds Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, and either TCU or BYU

Rutgers to the American.
