I do my best to not worry about things I can't control, and there's always some sort of fear cycle..and AI is the latest one. We'll see how it plays out.

I had a 95.5 model. Single cab, 4wd stick. Manual hubs. Classic 90s green. The first year for the "Tacoma" name plate.

Had some weird finishing issues being the first year, but you still see this 1st gen all over the road and I think it's more handsome than the 1st gen restyle.

I like the toyota "pickups" that predate them too.

Have a 3rd gen. Have no illusions about its longevity/reliability compared to it's predecessors but I imagine it'll still hold up better than the turbo era.

It's better than being fat...but it's definitely a "look."

It's worse than ever. All the stuff integrated into the windshield. My wife just got a pretty bad crack and we got 800 quoted for replacement..and I've heard worse. We had it repaired but it's still gnarly and right in her sight line.

I think there's a couple of problems. Lots of trucks with loosely covered loads. And it also occurs to me that I haven't seen a street sweeper in a long time clearing debris out of the breakdown lanes.

This is an easy and common courtesy that is almost never done.

I'd lean to the 5.0. But that has a wet belt driven oil pump (prior was a chain).

The Chevies and Toyotas are shitting the bed these days.

Honestly the best option at this point might be the damn frontier, with its naturally aspirated V6.

I have a 3rd gen tacoma that inspires NO confidence. Some of the weird shite I hear coming from under that hood, with its (stupid) dual port/direct injection systems.
