I am old enough to remember when Brian Kelly took the LSU job so that he could get better players than he could at his previous job and win national championships. That is what we were told by Kelly and LSU fans.
We learned that in fact it was the huge guaranteed contract that was the motivation to take the LSU job.
We saw the program he snubbed have more success than his new program.
Surely history won’t repeat itself.

Saban constantly looks back on his LSU days fondly when he's been able to reflect publicly on his career, you really think he would shite on the LSU job when Lane came to him? Lane, Nick, and Terry have a good relationship presently as evidenced by Lane's appearance on the panel including Nick and them discussing stories about Tiger Stadium. Lane also said Pete Carroll told him the same thing, cmon man!
You just bitter both Lane AND Jon Sumrall passed on your school for better schools.

why wouldnt we be good in this era? the transfer era produced our 2 Heisman winning qb the second was during the heavy portal era. that team wins a natty with any defense

I’m old enough to remember when a coach that had a .280 winning percentage at Ole Miss went on to have arguably one of the greatest teams and seasons in college football history at LSU

By that token, all of our coaches are just motivated by money.
It isn't like guys aren't taking massive guaranteed money at A&M, Florida, Georgia, Bama, etc

Oxford is the best college town in the SEC- and I say that as a Bama grad. Baton Rouge is a dump. Lane is just an immature boy with a Tinder account who can’t find satisfaction, peace, and love in his life. Too bad. He is a good coach but sold his soul to his ego.

Cignetti took the Ohio Bocats QB and was kicking butt his first season then the guy he got from Cal last season was ranked good in the portal but people didn't expect that level of play. I think the rest of it is him having a good eye for experience that is underrated because they might not be real big NFL prospects.

Gene Chizik won a national championship at Auburn. No one considers Auburn a great program because a bad coach had a generational talent at QB. Why do LSU fans think it is different with Orgeron and Burrow?

Sure. Your coach also has a massive, guaranteed contract. He may have just stayed at Washington otherwise. That isn't exclusive to Kelly.
