Father’s Day is the cruelest holiday because even if you are lucky enough that your wife lets you go golfing the golf course is unplayable because it’s overcrowded with all the other downtrodden husbands on their one day of freedom.

Northern Illinois. Don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to dump on the south by any means. I love Louisiana and I miss it a lot sometimes. But all I can say is for people with young families I really don’t think you can beat the low cost of living/high quality of life combo the Midwest has to offer right now.

In my opinion there has never been a better time to buy low on the Midwest. Still has very low COL and affordable housing stock compared to most of the rest of the country. Excellent education and healthcare systems. Culturally very family oriented. You get used to the winters. We moved up here and it has been a comprehensive quality of life upgrade across the board. Yes the winters are cold but honestly you wear gloves and a coat and it’s not that big of a deal.

The grackles under the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles all make the click clack noise of the cars driving over the sections of the bridge. It’s pretty weird.

They want $20 a month for what exactly? Seems like a complete rip off and waste of money. Has anybody had a good experience with this and feel it is a good value?
