There is all of 1 current SEC coach that has an SEC championship under his belt, so apparently there are a lot of overrated head coaches in the SEC.

Texas roster budget is arguably larger tha LSU's (in fact i think its the most expensive one in the country) and they have yet to win an SEC title much less a National Championship and Sark is in his 6th year

and for whatever reason people seem to be implying Kiffin is under more pressure to win fast than him

You say that and obviously the resumption of the 1960-70s Bama dynasty occurred but LSU’s first 3 seasons after Saban bolted

2005: 11-2, SEC West champ, top 5 national ranking
2006: 11-2, top 3 national ranking
2007: 12-2, SEC and national champ

All with Saban recruited players in starting roles

So you can claim he was able to “do much greater things at Bama” and obviously he forged his own dynasty there but LSU did all that with HIS recruits the first 3 years after he left.

I’m very confident in saying this but, if Saban stayed as LSU coach instead of trying the NFL, very likely LSU’s the dynasty of the 2010s not Alabama

I mean LSU won a natty and almost won another with freaking Les Miles as their head coach and won a natty with Coach O, you give Saban all that talent over a long period of time, you think he only wins 2 titles?

No one doubts that. I do think, however, that we were capable of giving him a greater ride to greater heights under the old ways. But, I have no question he would have dominated there.

I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have heard corn dogs repeat the same talking points over and over again. Its a new era (has been since 2020). None of the stuff you just mentioned matters if you aren't spending money *smartly*. We will see if he can win big there but as of today LSU has been overall average in this new era. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't.

I don't think things have changed as much as some want to believe they have. In this "new era", Ole Miss is having one of it's best stretches ever, but they're only .500 vs "average" LSU.
