Bama will not have another repeat of the years following Bryant. I see them continuing to roll for the foreseeable future. Maybe not quite to the level they've enjoyed the last 15 years but it won't be a significant drop off.

I never thought of him as a GA fan at all. I would say he is an Aubie fan without any doubt.

Probably trying to bring Auburn viewers back to college football. Been MIA up until the firing.

Hasn’t been able to compete with the elite for the last 30 years. That’s many different coaches with many different opportunities to show they still have it.

Notre Dame is done. It’s over.

Put them in the good but not great category for the rest of eternity.

+ ND and Miami

Miami and USC have big apathy problems. Especially Miami. Notre Dame, I think, has a recruiting problem. I'm not sure if it's academic standards, the location (very cold) or what but they can't seem to quite get the talent and although highly ranked sometimes end up folding badly in big games.

In Miami or LA if the college football team is losing... you head to the beach, the boat, the mountains...

In Alabama if the Tide is losing you shoot your neighbor or poison trees then call into Finebaum

Auburn has always gotten in Auburn's own way more than anyone.

Look at what all we have done in the modern era, and outside of Dye, I don't think you could argue we've ever had a great coach. We've had some above average one, but they have all overachieved at Auburn. If we were every to get our head out of our arse and get an actually great coach, the sky is the limit.

I’ve been following Pate and he’s been wrong more than he’s been right. The boosters will never get out of the way just like Texas

Auburn has to split the state of Alabama and will play Bama/Georgia every year.

LSU has Louisiana to itself. Not sure how you can argue Auburn is the better job.

Hint…it’s not

1979 Bama NC
1980 UGA NC

With Freaking Bear Bryant and Dooley aa head coaches.

Auburn had a great decade following their two biggest rivals winning NCs

Auburn has been in this spot before. The right hire puts AU in a good spot

AU needs to hire a coach with a strong personality who
will put their BOTs in their place. The only canidates
like that out there would be Urban or Matt Ruhle. Both don`t
need the money and would tell people to F off.Just like
NS did at ALA. Another yes man will destroy their program
even more than it is now.

Auburn can compete at the highest levels, we’ve all seen it.

The big problem are the power structures. While boosters are probably a tricky subject in every SEC school, AU’s are level above in terms of dysfunctional behavior.

They are a tier 2 program and that's the ceiling until Bama/UGA fall off. It's really, really damn hard to be a power when both Bama and UGA are humming. You can have an elite coach and still be behind those two juggernaut programs.

If Notre Dame is such a great job - then why would Kelly leave it to come to LSU?

If Bruce Pearl can get Auburn to a #1 rank in Basketball there is a coach not named Saban that can do it in football. It’s just a matter of people being willing to go all out without being in the way.

Auburn can win as much as anyone. But from a young coaches perspective, Auburn comes with some elevated risk. Most coaches only get one chance once they get a top 25 job. So when you do get one, it better work out.

The hard part at Auburn is sustaining success without the big drop off seasons Tuberville, Chizik, and Malzahn had. This isn't Iowa or even Penn St where a good season or two buys you enough time to survive a bad year.

ND has shite recruiting grounds, an admin that will not budge when it comes to competeing in big time CFB, a pay problem etc

Miami is a small private school that has issues with fan support and financial support

both have shitastic facilities.
