re: Matt Leinart settles debate of best team ever

Its ok Alabama sidewalks! I hate LSU too but the facts are that their 2019 team with a goofy coonass as their coach was the greatest team ever. And for context for those saying they only beat AU by 3 that year. That AU team was really good and went 9-3 but just had true freshman QB and gus bus offense. Bunch of NFL dudes on that team and played a 4-1-6 defense that game. Almost every other team on the schedule tried to run that against them and got torched. I have never seen a team that was so talented that other ranked teams had to create new defenses for them in the middle of the season.

Get out with 2004 USC garbage. They had a dominate title game against an overated opponet and a generational player. They also beat...
7 loss stanford by 3 after trailing by 25
6 loss UCLA by 4
5 loss Oregon St by 7
A good Cal team by 4
They were dominant is certain games but 2019 LSU had literally one game that was even remotely in doubt in the 4th qtr and that was #9 Auburn. They beat 7 top 10 teams. The only other option is 1995 Nebraska whose closet game was 14 and average margin of victory was 39 points.

Arkansas and South Carolina said yes when Florida State said they couldn't compete in the SEC so they have my respect.

Bruce Pearl got fired from Tennesse and given 3 year show cause for lying to NCAA about a BBQ

LSU for me. They best games I have ever witnessed in my lifetime seemed to always involve LSU. Was in school during the Tubs v Saban years which were the most violent games I have ever seen. Respect

Hard to believe more of those LSU teams from the 90s did not lose 9 games

LSU, UF and Auburn are the loudest due to the way they are built. Of those 3 Auburn probably offers the most pagentry and LSU overall experience. Tennessee would be next then Bama and UGA. I thought A&M was neat and unique but it is a notch down compared to other SEC stadiums. Arkansas is very underated and can get very loud.
re: Who was the best Auburn football coach of the last 30 years?
Posted by TIGERSPIKE on 7/1/23 at 5:10 am
Tuberville and it is not close. The second that the last Dye recruit graduated (D. Craig) AU went off a cliff under Bowden. Bowden took his dads leftovers or guys FSU couldnt get into school because of criminal issues. Tubs rebuilt AU roster in two years and had elite talent by 2001. Yes, he almost got fired because the 2002 and 2003 teams should have competed for SEC or national championships but he was learning big time SEC football at the time. Jetgate opened his eyes to how important AU took things. Had a great 4 year run after that. Probably should have had a great 6 year run but all in all he was a very good coach. The 2010 team had a ton of Tuberville players that complimented Cam to the natty. They all graduated and Chizik was left was his own players and it crashed. Malzhan is a close second. He acheived about as much as Tubs and faced a much tougher road with Saban, Kirby and LSU. Gus would have been hands down #1 if he could have left playcalling duties behind. Just couldnt do it

Best CWS I’ve ever watched.
1997 CWS was the best from top to bottom ever
LSU- Gorilla ball
Bama- Andy Phillips
Auburn- Tim Hudson
Rice- Lance Berkman
Stanford- kyle Peterson
Miami- Pat Burrell
UClA- Troy Glaus
Miss State- Dubose
Was at every game. Incredible

Auburn and UGA want to keep the rivalry. Bama does not want to keep the rivalry with Tenn.

They obviously punished teams that played 150 rpi+ teams. Cohen mentioned that like 7 times. Half of Bama's wins were against quad 4 teams which was the most of all regional hosts. Auburn and UK played the least amount of those games. I had Bama #12 and AU #14 for what it is worth. Auburn got screwed a few years back when we were expected to be a solid host and ended up as a two seed then matched with #1 UF in supers. It happens

Auburn, LSU, Florida are on another level from the other SEC stadiums. Bama, Tenn, and UGA are loud ofcourse but they dont seem to match the other three. A&M was cool but very overrated as far as noise goes.

From that group it has got to be UK and AU right? Bama and Tennessee have played 20 games each against Q3/4

1.UF
2.Arky
3.LSU
4.Vandy
5.Auburn
6.Carolina
I believe that is set regardless of Tennessee winning series today although im not sure due to USC having one less game.
7-9 Alabama, Tenn, UK in some order
10.A&M
11.Mizzou
12.UGA

3.LSU

Auburn at 17-13 should be a lock to host. You taking Vandy at 17-13 or Auburn at 17-13?

Can someone explain Vandy as a top 8 seed to me other than reputation? 70% of their conference wins are against the bottom 4

Look at the discrepency of scores between AU regional and Las Vegas regional. What Mickey Mouse course are you playing at to be -42 after two rounds?

Really been studying schedules this year. My conclusion is that there really isnt much seperation from 1 to 10 in the SEC. Vandy for example has 2 total wins out of 17 conference wins over the top 5 in SEC. 12 of their conference wins are against the bottom 5. Carolina on the other hand has 6 wins against the top 4.

Am I the only one that is not that impressed with Vandy? Not saying they suck but they arent a top 10 team to me. I think they got a very fortunate schedule starting the SEC slate with the 4 worst teams in league
