Golesh-panic hire

A “panic hire” is a hasty, ill informed decision-the best example of this is Arky hiring Silverfield after their first choice, Golesh, went to Auburn when the job opened up.

he doesn’t understand how the portal works.

Wrong. The one that doesn’t understand how the portal works-or is too stupid to care-is Golding who did the dumbest thing ever by texting a player signed and enrolled at another school with a financial offer of compensation.

Let’s look at the facts
quote:

Under NCAA bylaw 13.1.1.4, athletics staff members are prohibited from contacting student-athletes at other Division I institutions without authorization through the transfer notification process. According to the NCAA manual, contact after enrollment could result in a Level II violation, while providing financial inducements to secure enrollment or involving third parties could elevate the matter to a Level I violation, the most serious classification. Potential penalties range from fines and suspensions to scholarship reductions, recruiting restrictions, probation, and postseason bans.

1. Level 2-Ferrelli was no longer in the transfer portal. He has signed and enrolled at Clemson
2. Level 1-Golding did, in fact, provide financial inducements to secure his re-entry into the portal and enrollment at Ole Miss, and stupidly did it from his own cell phone.

Sure-schools are doing this every day. The difference is you have Clemson coming in with the receipts of it, and the NCAA is highly likely to make an example out of Ole Miss to send a message to the rest and try to tame the situation around the portal.

He left Auburn as a grad transfer BTW...

How the frick do you think Finley got a degree in three years? :rotflmao:

He spent his freshman year at LSU then two at Auburn-and no, he did not graduate.
You are such a fricking idiot.

Only Bama QB that left is Simpson for the draft, the other two have announced they are staying-and you are getting info from some garbage site.

You need more than hooked on phonics.
He re-signed, not “resigned” as in quit.

In that article it also says Russell “resigned” as well-some solid journalism you linked there.
It’s what is happening with the Williams kid from UW

The new school has to buy out the other school’s rev share contract-I believe this may be ONLY if the school is not willing to nullify the contract, which UW was not.
The new school’s rev share is also reduced for the next year by that amount.

So with Williams, it would ultimately cost a school about $12M assuming you simply match his UW contract for $4m.

$4m for rev share
$4m to buy out UW contract
$4m reduction in future rev share expenditures

Essentially if you have a kid and there is a mutual agreement to transfer, there isn’t going to be an issue. Where the issue will arise is when the school wants to enforce their rev share contract with the player while the player wants to leave to essentially “shop” for the highest bidder.

the first QB we got from USF

Locklan Hewlett? Google who his dad is-or I’ll just tell you.

One of THE top NFL QB coaches in the nation, Will Hewlett.

He coached Brock Purdy, Anthony Richardson, Trevor Lawrence, Caleb Williams, etc.

Maybe we get free QB training?
Did Bama really pay Cam $50k just to visit?

Holy shite that is pathetic
Byrum Brown is not in Tuscaloosa.

Clemente was fricking with people.

Some didn’t get the joke.
The only school I have seen mention Deuce is Ole Miss and that is just their delusional fans thinking he’s a lock for them.

I think Pete would want a proven starter for his first year as a HC and don’t see Deuce going to OM to ride a bench with a guy in his first head coaching stint.
Brown will be on campus today through Monday.

Pete Golding and his Ole Miss Rebels are two wins away from being the first ever college football team to win it all in a 12 team playoff

Ohio State would like a word.

You don’t even know what year this is, do you?

I could 100% see bama overpaying Cam to get him over there

Cam is not going to Bama lol-have you see their QB situation right now?
I thought Simpson was the problem
I recall a lot of people noting the lack of a running game when DeBoer was hired which is antithetical to Bama football.
Honest question for Bama fans-

When Grubb came you all celebrated claiming he was the best OC in the nation.

How do you feel today?

re: Mendoza vs an SEC defense

OSU’s defense is better than any SEC defense-and he beat them.

The Indiana defense also shut down their Heisman nominated QB and round one NFL draft pick WR.

Sumrall’s father passed away yesterday. I’m sure he’s spread thin.
They downgraded bad

They think this is going to get them Cam Coleman-sure, he’s going to follow a coach who completely underutilized them, also sure he loves seeing how little they use Williams :rotflmao:

denial stage

I think they have moved to the delusional stage where they have convinced themselves Pete Golding was the mastermind all these years.
