Kirby would not be behind this in my opinion. This is the kids family probably. Why start a big fight with a rival school? Once the gloves are off bad things can come back on you one day.

Forgot he was at UGA. Kirby Smart or the broader UGA brain trust definitely wanted this suit to happen. Why didn't he file this suit when at Arizona State? lmao.
The timing is likely because of Tennessee's lawsuit.
Prior to that suit, it was against NCAA rules to pay players to attend your school. If Rashada had brought the suit then, he would have lost his eligibility to play.
Now that the courts have deemed pay to play to be allowed, Rashada can sue UF for breach of contract (even if it's a verbal contract) without losing eligibility.

This is a reasonable point but I don't think anyone at UGA has advised him against it. What's bad for UF is good for UGA. Ultimately, he has Napier and this booster dead to rights on breach of contract.

UF and Billy Napier must be reigned in. He’s out there violating all kinds of rules while guys like Saban, Freeze, Kiffin and Kirby are doing things the right way.

Could set an interesting precedent. There were some UofL Football guys who left in the off season because they were promised money by a third party to play at UofL and they were never paid.
I’m also here for CAW’s response to this.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I doubt UGA wants to be involved even to the point of giving advice one way or the other.

So you’re telling me that it’s schools not named A&M that don’t understand how NIL works… who would’ve guessed it?
I’m just waiting for Saban offer his opinion and blame the boogeyman Jimbo.

Why would Kirby want to hasten Napier's exit from Florida?
Exactly, we all hope they keep that turd around as long as possible

I feel like some of what is alleged is a big time NCAA violation even in today's climate. Especially when the player and his representation are snitching them this hard. Wonder if Billy gets fired with cause and this booster disassociated by 2025?
Good.
Here is a little story from back in the day. I am close to some Bull Gators, and back when UF was getting the smack down from the NCAA in the 80's I was at one of their homes and he said, "Bill Carr (Florida AD) sent me a letter today and today and told me not to have anything to do with Florida recruiting or I will be banned from campus." Then he handed me the letter, which I read. It wasn't a friendly letter.
He then said, "That fine, I spent more shite on kids that ended up going to other schools than kids that ended up going to Florida anyway. "
I just always thought that summed up the ridiculousness of college athletics recruiting.

Only way this lawsuit has any traction is if Jaden or his dad had the presence of mind to record Sunbelt Billy promising $1mil on signing day. Other than that I suspect this gets settled out of court for way less than the original proposed NIL deal.
In any case he should maybe focus on becoming good at the game of American football so he can have at least some shot at being drafted? Just a thought..

You gotta think the kid doesn't expect to ever get PT if he is going to admit to NCAA violations and risk losing his eligibility over this.

On the surface, I'd agree with this but causing an unexpected termination and NCAA sanctions to further immiserate your biggest rival simply cannot be avoided.
NCAA sanctions are toothless plus UF would save money on his buyout if he is fired for cause

My thoughts as well. NIL is not a process of prestigious law firms and sharp penciled analysts negotiating through an M&A deal. It is a bunch of schmuck salesman Cheesed%^k "Agents" and hanger on family members cutting hush hush side deals with the shadier side of the booster community.
