re: If UTx loses to UGA & A&M…

What are we supposed to do about it? Apologize?

I honestly don’t get this incessant argument. We were assigned a schedule. We’ve played the schedule. We’ve beaten the opponents that were presented to us. Is there some sort of demerit we should inherit because the SEC didn’t accurately prognosticate the overall
caliber of each team we played?
Change the year to 2024 and swap Texas for Texas A&M and this is exactly what everyone was whining about ..including aggy. Your own medicine tastes bad now? Lolz

Texas has to be T10 because UGA is next week. It is that simple.
Even I have to admit this is the real truth. I would have no problem if we were 11 as long as it's above Zero U.
Agreed, the Championship game is the only one that needs the NFL stadium treatment.

I prefer mudholing everyone on the schedule to exciting games, but to each their own.

What makes #1 so funny is that the knock against Texas A&M has always been that we are too socially and politically conservative, and not open-minded enough to align with the “usual” liberal college experience. Anyone who has spent time around our student body or university knows this rings true.

We’ve showed up on lists such as “least LGBTQ friendly,” or “most conservative,” yet on tRant, the script has been weirdly rewritten.

But I agree with the overall premise of this thread. It gets old.
There's a butt load (no pun intended) of over compensation in this post. But hey, keep that closet door closed, nobody wants to see anyway, lolz
Somebody please pay attention to MEEEEE!

Yes, over here..me! I need validation badly.
That's not as bad as one program making a mini-movie of a prized recruits life story...and then that recruit ends up commiting to and playing for their most hated rival, lolololol

Almost sounds like a fictional story doesn't it?

I think either Georgia or Alabama. Georgia got the night game and Bama got the mid game. Georgia has owned Texas and Oklahoma has sorta owned Alabama. Could go either way on which venue gets it.
"Oklahoma has sorta owned Alabama"

Kinda like Vandy has "sort of owned Texas" if you go back to the leather helmet days? Lol son, if you want history then Texas owns the Gooners in the RRR, lol

The CFP rankings start tonight. Below is the CBS guess.

I would drop down Miami and ND . I would move up Oklahoma and Vandy.

Otherwise about right……

What do you all think
Move those two up where, 11 and 12? Head to head has to count

Everyone paid players. Why do you assume Saban was just that sneaky to where he got away with it and no one else did?
Plausible deniability.

Saban didn't pay players and didn't want to know about his players being paid, but you can bet he put out subtle passive/aggressive ques to the big money guys at Bama booster meetings.
That's just an invitation for any AD with a blank check to drop by the Sip.
Scared, that's what this thread reeks of..fear.

I get it, lil bro always gets his hopes up and then Lucy pulls the football away just as glory is within sight. But hey, who knows...maybe the football gods have grown tired of playing with aggy and allows you to go all the way this year? Crazier things have happened.

I mean Congress is openly talking about ufo's and aliens these days? Lolz

I'll admit that some teams are brands, some teams are true blue bloods, and that some teams need to drop their title of “blue bloods” there’s no reason Nebraska should be considered a blue blood anymore don’t care how good they were back then, what are they doing now? A blue blood is suppose to compete for championships at least every decade, correct? Football is so more advanced now that I’m willing to be you take the greatest teams from back then and the greatest teams now. Modern day football is beating those teams 95% of the time.
You can make the argument that the "blue bloods" term doesn't apply to college football (or any sport) but that doesn't change the fact that if you apply the same criteria to CFB programs as you do the old "captains of industry" families of the late 19th, early 20th century wealthy families (where the term originated) then the children of the corn can't be excluded.
Not a bad choice tbh. He was a monster Texas high school football coach, came to Texas and became a recruiting whiz, then does the best he can with UTSA recruits.

He still has deep ties to East Texas and DFW high schools, in fact one of our starting DE's was recruited and developed by Traylor.
Yes, he's saving his new boot goofin for the playoffs.

You paid over 60 million in buyouts to Mack, Strong and Herman

You're right, it would have been better to pay more than that to get rid of ONE coach. Maybe someday we'll be as smart as the average aggy.

They are going to be in the playoff, and if you have to play them, they're going to beat the crap out of you
Is that so? Domers have never scared me at all. In fact a few years back one of the worst Texas teams of the past 20 years (we didn't have a real #1 QB and true imbecile OC) years was able to send them home with an L...and they were top 10 at the time iirc.

Domers at #10 ffs..

Who do they have left to play?

I disagree. There are always good coaches out there. There are coaches that finished their careers at some FCS or D2 school that would have won a national championship at Bama, LSU, Ohio St etc.
TSRH^^
The problem is at least 4 schools coach shopping this year have entitled boosters and fanbases who will raise holy hell if their AD hires a relative no name from the D2 ranks...even if that is by far the best choice vs a P4 coordinator.

You have zero concept of the word Blueblood do you?

Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates may have far more wealth than the Mellons, Rockefellers, Carnegies etc these days, but they will never be American Blue Bloods no matter how rich they become or how much wealth the old families bleed out.
