YOU'RE RIGHT!

WTF WOULD 100,000 ALFA MALES WHO TRAIN TO KILL PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT COMPETITIVE RIVALRIES?

These players and fans at this game are high achievers, not normal joes. So the fact that normal joes don’t understand what is going on here is understandable. These are the best and brightest we have and I respect all those who graduate our service academies.

Politics!!! Is what it's all about.

Nope, it is about a way of competing that used to be common across college football that started changing in the 70's with free agency.

You dressed with a sense of self, maybe not Sunday best but close
Your posture was better as was your grooming
You engaged in conversation with those around you
You had manners
You cheered your team, not booed the other team
You paid attention to the game, not your phone
You took pictures of your surroundings, not yourself
You wore your underwear under your clothes as it was meant to be
You were gracious in victory and kind in defeat
You played for a team, not for yourself and your agent

Driving through Storm King is only eclipsed by the Academy grounds itself. It is truly the most beautiful campus I have ever walked.

This was my experience. I always looked at it as an officer thing.

Sorry I dont mix politics with football. I rather watch real football. I'm really making you idiots melt

You're displaying your ignorance to the history of college football with this thread. Army-Navy is a time capsule game between two groups of men who have a voracious love for their school (Westpoint and the US Naval Academy) and an agape love for their country (enough so that they are quite literally willing to spend the next 5 years after this game fighting and dying for us).

If you've ever romanticized college football as being for the love of school and the game, this is quite literally your best possible example (whereas you can see guys from harvard or Yale still make the NFL, Army & Navy players are headed into service regardless of their ability).

If the offenses look antiquated and boring, it's because the players have to adhere to strict weight limits in accordance with their military training. The only way for them to endure a full season and still commit themselves to off the field activities is to run these types of offenses.

Quite frankly, this is the essence of college football.

Watch the movie "The Long Gray Line" with Tyrone Power, which was made in the 50s. Walk the campus today and very little has changed. Even the light poles and fences are the same. Like I said, both West Point and Annapolis are timeless. The AFA is a little different, but beautiful in itself.
