Gulf was covering between Sr and Jr

Jarhead I used to rent to did 3 tours then went back the 4th as hired gun but not Marine.

Was mainly curious when I made the list if age made a difference.

I am old and one of my uncles was on the Death March in Bataan. Another was Air Corps in the Hump while most of the rest of my family were in Europe. On of my cousins was Navy in Korea and several served in Army and Navy in Vietnam.

Was curious as it might be an age thing on the non com guys feeling detached as they were younger and served in different era. Not saying the officer vs enlisted thing was different back then [old man went in as pvt and mustered out as a pvt as he had a wife and kids when the war broke out and was not good at the taking orders without question thing] but that it is viewed differently now.

Got you. I joined during Clinton and got out under Obama. A lot of change between those two times.

Enlisted guys are absolutely more cynical and less prone to nostalgia, but as they get older they want to remember the old days more fondly.

I have far more fond memories of watching Alabama and Auburn football games with my dad and brothers. I will watch that game every year and enjoy it.

I was career enlisted in the army and don't know a single person who isn't a ring knocker who gives a single hoot about this game. Hell, I work with a USMAWP guy every single day, and he hasn't said a word about this game.

Army-navy game is overrated and only relevant because they represent our country.

It's all about respect in that rivalry. It is the very best rivalry in all of sports, IMO.

Walk the campus today and very little has changed.

My father was assigned to West Point as the SF liaison. I lived at STAS for 2 years. I'm well acquainted with it. It's the one place I love more than Tuscaloosa, for obvious reasons.

I've seen movie, and you're correct very little has changed.

Ok if you say it is overrated but it appears that 80% of the posters disagree with you.

It is certainly not boring and Army has a very good team this year. They held a playoff team
(That is one of the top four teams by the way) to 21 points in regulation. Eventually lost 28-21 to Okie in OT.

Navy while they have struggled this year was not chopped liver either.

Good win by Army 17-10 but Navy made it interesting in the 4th Quarter. Good game with a great atmosphere.

Easily the best college football game every year. Very physical well played game.

Watching this game is a breath of fresh air. Very intense, very physical (they were laying on the leather today). Very little showmanship by either team. If they make a play, very little celebration, they just go back to the huddle to get ready to do it again. They act like they have they have done it before.

Yes easily the best game and atmosphere of the year in CFB.

I don't mind celebrating. It's just a game after all.

Some celebration is fine. I am for it. But these players that dance after a 3 yard run or a guy makes a routine tackle on defense and then jumps up and dances around are a bit too much.

Act like you have done it before.

I've been to the Iron Bowl. I'd go back to Army-Navy before I would go back to the Iron Bowl. It's a different game than these instate rivalries. I really feel like I support my country when I was there

^^This. All rivalries aren't the same. Sometimes there's a mutual respect despite both sides wanting to murder the other team.

Intense... aka insane, yes.

But none are better! Absolutely none!
