Technically Ole Miss now has 1/15th say in the matter.

See, I'm having a hard time deciding if Ole Miss has influence or not. There are so many posts damning Ole Miss for driving this whole thing, and then there are so many posts saying that Ole Miss has no influence. Depends on the tiger I guess.

You remember that time we took the fall for paying a player that had been paid half the conference- even by LSU?

There’s this concept called loyalty.

I actually think this might happen, looking into rumors and coordinated statements by these attorney generals last week

Georgia
quote:

He said the rules could not be “ignored or twisted to benefit one coach, one institution, or one program,” and told the SEC that if LSU rostered the players, it should use “all measures available,” “up to and including suspending and/or removing LSU from the Conference.”

He further threatened to use “all legal means necessary” to protect Georgia.

Carr then escalated the rhetoric publicly on September 4, calling LSU a “rogue institution right now in the SEC.”

Mississippi

quote:

"the integrity of their programs and the integrity of the sport” and concluded, “As Mississippi's Chief Legal Officer, I stand with Ole Miss and Mississippi State.”

Oklahoma

quote:

“This ruling from the court is a slap in the face of every college athlete, coach, and fan who has abided by the spirit and letter of league rules for many decades.”

“I will stand with the SEC and the Oklahoma Sooners to ensure that fairness is afforded to all throughout the upcoming season. We have rules for a reason, and we all must uphold those rules — or invite anarchy to infect our ranks.”

South Carolina

quote:

“Putting a previous NFL player on a college roster against the directive of the Southeastern Conference, not only circumvents the authority of the conference, but also undermines the spirit of college athletics.”

“It is in the best interest of South Carolina colleges and universities to stand with my fellow Attorneys General against this practice and in support of the @SEC.”

The chancellor of Tenner, who is also the president of the SEC Exec committee made similar comments

quote:

“Our group is united on this. This is not a rule we will budge on.”

Emphasizing “prepared to defend our rules and our authority to defend our rules.

These are other members of the exec committee Missouri, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Georgia, Kentucky and Florida

Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, State and Tenner are already rumored to be pro-kicking out LSU.

Add in South Carolina and Oklahoma based on the AG's public statements.

Now add in the rest of the exec committee who likely stand in agreement with the other 3 members. Mizzou, Texas A&M, Kentucky and Florida(who along with Sankey has bad blood against LSU going back to the 2016 scheduling drama)

Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Tenner, Ole Miss, State, Kentucky, Florida, Mizzou, South Carolina. That's 11 votes

I think LSU effectively coordinating with players and counseling them on how to gain eligibility/sue the SEC and then abstaining from the vote when it was 15-0 was the final straw.

LSU may have literally just FAFO

No, it was a combination of Fulmer hanging around too long and a string of shitty AD’s hiring shitty coaches. Kiffin was only there for one year.

I can't speak for Vol Twitter but that isn't our whole fanbase - its just a group of trolls that hate Lane Kiffin not LSU - Typically Tennessee fans root for LSU out of the west - we hate Bama not LSU.

This is just about your coach not LSU

OM has no influence. This is all about LSU. And any "look what they did to OM" outrage is purely feigned.

Where do you come up with this stupid shite? If Ole Miss wanted you kicked out, it would have been for Kiffin trying to feed shite to Dabo against us, not because you weren't allowed to hire pro players. The latter pissed off everyone in the conference, not just Ole Miss. I think we took a back seat on that one and just ate the popcorn.

Funny you think OM is doing this.. ha ha...

LSU is the bad arse spoiled kid in the corner, that pissed off everybody in the room, but still thinks he is getting picked on.

Now the SEC is stepping in, to give LSU its spanking.

Ole Miss and Tenn want LSU out because they are angry jilted exes. Bama, UGA and Texas want LSU out because of FEAR OF LANE KIFFIN taking LSU to the top.

And there is ZERO chance an LSU President would have voted to kick out Bama for some BS

Look I get them being mad at him. But wanting to go full bore with blood in their eyes to kick LSU out the SEC? I still think that's odd for them
Tennessee holds sway in the SEC, always has. Ole Miss, not as much.

But the fact that Vandy/Arkansas/MSU/So Carl/Mizzou/UK/aTm and the rest have gathered up together in unity and mutual agreement, essentially forming a 15-team contingent about to place LSU's head on the chopping block is both surprising and depressing to me as a fan and alum of an SEC school.

Didn't Lane Kiffin fly to Knoxville when Sam Leavitt was on a visit to sign him to LSU?
