The thing about these people that do this, like the youtubers that go full To Catch a Predator and then beat the frick out of dudes in Walmart, is that they dont ACTUALLY care. Its not about justice or some moral calling.
They are using it as cover for being violent people.
It puts others in a weird spot for "defending" creeps, but its simply a judgement of them, not the creeps.

That worldview may feel good to hold, but it wont allow you to actually understand the world around you, given thats your goal.
Go back to reddit and comicbooks.

Turkey is arguably the 2nd best team in the group that had terrible luck through 2 games.
They had more to play for than we did.

Is this the thread where a bunch of retards take pride in their ignorance of what that game was?
We played our fricking backups for 70 mins. and then subbed in maybe 3 starters.

Bro you agree with my post. Pushing only one version of history so that it becomes the only version of history, even when the history is accurate, is still....propaganda. Im defending the stance of this movie being propaganda.
quote:
A "benevolent" slave owner was still a slave owner. Being taught to read doesn't justify the evil.
I didnt say it did. And i didnt say it wasnt an evil. I said there were many different versions of this historical enterprise. And we dont learn them or see them depicted. You wouldnt want to see many different depictions of historical events and gain better, full context from simply a contextual standpoint? I know i like to.
quote:
Good look though, pulling both the "not all slave owners" and the "not all Nazis" in the same post.
Did you seriously not understand that that was the exact point of me doing that? Two well-established "villains" of history that when you dive deep into it you realize that 90% are just...people.
Im not sure how it benefits anyones knowledge of history to view things like they are comicbooks full of groups of one dimensional sadistic villains.
Picking those specific stories, and only those stories, to represent something, is by defintion, propaganda.

Sure.

It was fricking awful, was it not?
Given that these events are in fact "historical" as you say (which you should look into because there is a lot of scholarly contention surrounding this), its basically the absolute peak awfulness of American Slavery. Fassbender is a cartoonishly evil person with no redeeming qualities.
The fact that every slave movie has a psychopathic evil plantation master proves that its propaganda and not pure history, as we know this wasn't exclusively true. Are you under the impression that propaganda cant be true?
I would say that Hollywood has pretty effectively taught generations upon generations of people that Solomon Northrup and Toby had the standard experience.
Not a lot of "ill grant you slavery is wrong. But here's a story of people of a time that treated slaves well, taught them to read, allowed families to stay together, and worked along side them" movies going around. We know there are cases of this. You don't wonder why that is?
I would say that every NAZI being a fricking Bond villain in WW2 provides purposefully myopic of view of history that is, by definition, inaccurate.
But keep learning all your history from Hollywood.

The hidden aspect of most of these stories, is that these women arent trying to bang young, future OTers, or the quarterback....they are banging black dudes.
They get that jungle fever. So, given that the boy was in fact special needs, it just means he probably couldnt read or some shite.
I have seen like 5 bodycam vids on youtube where the pretty white teacher gets arrested, and when they talk to the victims mother, shes a black lady every time.

the statement of fact that most people find black women least attractive among races?
Its, by definition, a verifiable claim. Just not practically verifiable, which is the case about all things that would be subject to a poll or survey.
The number of stars in the universe is an objectively measurable thing, that we will never be able to measure.
"Universally acknowledged" has never been understood to mean 100% of people. There isnt a fact or opinion that fits that definition.

But it is also racist, not because of it's truth or untruth. It is racist because the underlying premise is, in fact, a statement of racial superiority/inferiority based on a purely subjective standard begged as objective.
And there it is. Option A. as i predicted.

Yes, it absolutely can be.
This sounds like a contradiction on the surface because we usually use the word "fact" to mean "something that is true." But in linguistics, law, and philosophy, a statement of fact doesn't mean the statement is automatically accurate—it just means the statement is capable of being proven true or false.
Think of it as the category of the statement, rather than its truth value.

Statements of fact can be proved or disproved with objective evidence, whereas statements of opinion depend on personal values and preferences. Distinguishing between these types of statements contributes to information competence. Conversely, failure at fact-opinion differentiation potentially brings resistance to corrections of misinformation and susceptibility to manipulation. Our analyses show that on fact-opinion differentiation tasks, unsystematic mistakes and mistakes emanating from partisan bias occur at higher rates than accurate responses. Accuracy increases with political sophistication. Affective partisan polarization promotes systematic partisan error: as views grow more polarized, partisans increasingly see their side as holding facts and the opposing side as holding opinions.

You are super confident in things you've done no research or study on lol. Good for you i guess.
A "statement of facts" or "factual statements" say nothing about the validity of the statement.
