The suit selections are the least of his problems in that marriage.

No disrespect, but Luling,TX seems pretty close. Still a small oilfield town. Still smells like sulfur when you drive through. City Market BBQ is still a great place to eat…

You do have to get a long way out of the huge metroplexes to find the real Texas now…

We agree on a lot there. Its still Town Lake to me. When the City cut down hundreds year old pecan trees to build a parking garage on Barton Springs, I knew crap had changed. I almost never drive into Austin these days.

So I take it that you are not now living in a $2M high rise condo in downtown Austin?

Good for you! Here’s to cool old authentic Austin spots like Liberty Lunch, if you remember that place.

Shootings on E 6th, shootings on W 6th and shootings on Rainey Street…

Not to mention students and student-athletes being murdered by the homeless and fentanyl on campus.

Just a really dangerous, disgusting place.

Here’s the most punchable face in college football history:

The de facto commissioner of the old Big12.

You're not wrong, you're just operating in a different intellectual time zone.

I think my favorite part about moving to the SEC has been, that now all the other schools understand just how fricking insufferable that school and fanbase are.

I was responding to Old School's post. Guess that was confusing to you.

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.

You can rent a kayak in Town Lake

I don’t know if you are a real LSU fan or not. But I do know that you are an old fart who has spent a lot of time in Austin. Unless I am wrong, only old fart Austin residents call what is now named Ladybird Lake, “Town Lake.”

I was at UT in the 80s to early 90s. IMO like many old UT grads, I think the much smaller Austin was way cooler then. I have lived outside of Texas for over 30 years now. To me, any city as large as the current Austin is way too much of a hassle…

I took my kayak to Town Lake for the 4th of July, and had a blast, went to South Congress afterwards, and the only shots were the ones people were drinking.

I still call it Town Lake, go to Barton Springs, take visitors to the State Capitol and the UT campus, go to the Continental Club, and can still deal with large crowds, or avoid them.

I was born at Bergstrom AFB, went to HS here and UT, moved all over the place, including Florida, Oklahoma, Louisiana & Colorado, and retired 20 miles from downtown Austin. I go to Austin when I want to, or just stay home.

Fawns born in the yard here every year ...

and they come back when they are older.

Sadly, I see bigger deer at home than out in the country.

Nah, that's a whole different serial killer in the city.

This was just another typical weekend shooting in Austin
