You should have stopped your Memorial Day drinking around noon.

Sorry to disappoint but spent the bulk of the day on the motorcycle so didn't do much in the way of drinking.

Pretty sure we broke an attendance record when they were a #2 seed in ours, they brought a village and it was a blast. It’s why I love playing SEC teams in baseball.

Baseball to them is like basketball to you guys..the traditional successful sport.

However, you guys both smoked us this season so I can’t judge the outcome.

Reality is, they should have gotten it over a few teams, even Bama. They beat us handily just a last month. We have been a roller coaster trainwreck at times. I’m glad we got it, but Arky deserved it.

Are you really predicting a fan base of a two seed is gonna fill up 3400 of 4000 seats? Has that ever come close to happening in real life at any NCAA regional?

According to this, the largest crowd ever recorded at Hoglund Ballpark was the KU game vs Nebraska on April 21st of this year (2,674).

I doubt that any team would put 3,400 to 4,000 people in that ballpark, since that would be 800-1,400 more fans than the stadium has ever held. Kansas did average over 1,100 fans at each game this year...which is right at 12% of what Arkansas averaged this season (over 9,500). I guess we'll see how it all turns out.

you’re not outnumbering the home fans

We won't outnumber them if we play kansas head to head. The locals and season ticket holders will have first dibs on tickets, and will grab them up. Hog-Land park is a miniscule place, and even with temporary seats added, it'll only be about 3,000 capacity. We'll put more than that in the Baum Walker stands on a Tuesday in February against ULM with the temps being 40 degrees.

But look for the Hog fans to be there Friday night in large numbers (for Hog-Land park) against MO State. I live in OP and I know a LOT of Arkansas alums from the area who are planning to go. Lots of current students from this area are home for Summer and going over. Friday night the place should be just about full, and it'll be 80+ percent Hog fans.

The one variable that could affect it is that MANY of the Northwest Arkansas Hog fans who would normally make the short drive up and fill Hog-Land, will be in OKC. Making our first WCWS is a huge deal, and lots of the folks I've heard from are going there to witness history.

I thought everyone knew the tournament was a scrimmage for all but the bottom teams hoping to play into an auto qualifying spot

This is pretty much how it plays out every year, but people forget it. Arkansas's hosting hopes weren't going to be decided by a single nice win in the SECT.

Their RPI was low vs others that are hosting.
RPI puts too much meaning on meaningless midweek games. The midweek games are for getting lower end bullpen arms some reps. Unless the NCAA comes up with a different metric, teams are going to start scheduling fewer midweek games to combat this.

Clearly there's a way to "game" the RPI formula, and Arkansas has not taken advantage of it. I'd definitely look at scheduling differently in the future with the intent of manipulating RPI.

Which shows you KPI and DSR weren’t all that important. Arkansas is 14th in both.

RPI was the only metric they looked at. All of the hosts are right down the RPI line with the exception of two teams: Ole Miss and USC. USC was 1-11 against Quad 1 teams and Ole Miss was just another middle of the pack SEC team.

Yeah I was extremely skeptical when the committee said they’d be using KPI and DSR this year. Now I know I was right to be lol.
