They were the best...it makes me think of what could have been at UT with Chuck Webb and Reggie Cobb in that 1989 season.
Cobb was kicked off the team for failing a drug test after only 90 carries (averaging 6.8 ypc).
Webb wound up with 1,200 rushing yards and 5.8 ypc (still a school record for ypc for a rusher with over 200 carries).
Webb wound up with 294 yards against Ole Miss and 250 yards in the bowl game against Arkansas. He tore up his knee the following season.

quote:I agree. I think it is rare and awesome that elite duos like Chubb/Sony and Cadillac/Brown stayed for the full 4 years. If you are ranking all-time "duos" they need to top the list for that reason to me at least. McFadden/Jones were there for 3 years so still very impressive.
Yeah, it's hard to compare stats for a couple of seasons to stats for 4 seasons.
However, SDS added 2 other duos, one for two years, one for only one year, that LF/Guice clearly out-performed, and to me should have been recognized.

Didn't he wear his jersey while doing this?

They didn’t really become a true duo until they both surprisingly returned for their senior seasons, which was in part because of new offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone’s desire to use a 2-back system.
Noel Mazzone "left the program" after 2003.
The 2004 OC was "Gorgeous" Al Borges.

Yeah, it's hard to compare stats for a couple of seasons to stats for 4 seasons. But if we're looking at 4 year career duos, Chubb and Michel had most total yards rushing, highest ypc, highest ypg and most TD's.

Didn't win a national title, so I'd say Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson, or TJ Yeldon and Derrick Henry, were better. Each of those duos produced national titles and heisman winners.
For those that couldn't win it all, the duo from Arkansas a few years back would be contenders, as would Chumm and Michel at UGA, among others.

Get the frick outta here with that bullshite. I could run behind that 'roided up offensive line. Cochran pumped those boys so full of juice they could a worked Welch's.

Ah yes. Webb was a bad mofo. That was a hell of a RB duo.. I'd go with the Arky duo as my best ever.. Danley and Josephs at Auburn were dam good back in the day too.

Pbbbssshht. The Auburn team with those three was terrible. They were held to 10 points or less 5 times.
If not for a 73 point outburst against LAMO, they'd probably the be the lowest scoring offense in Auburn's modern history.

List without L7F is shite.
A one man wrecking crew.
If not for Bama he would have won 3 three of what OJ won one.
