I thought Ogilvie graduated in like 79 or something.

Did he actually play with Nathan?

Also, I can't remember his full name or the years, but Alabama had a really good back named Moore not long after Nathan. Can't remember if he was a fullback or jumbo sized tailback though.

Pbbbssshht. The Auburn team with those three was terrible. They were held to 10 points or less 5 times.

Same number as Arkansas.

The 2010 Bama backfield is easily the most talented since we went to divisional play.

One. That 2004 team was as good as any SEC team since 92.

His reasoning for placing McFadden/Jones at three is a stretch. Sure McFadden had the majority of the carries, by a decent margin, but Felix Jones was an integral part of the offense. An offense that wouldn't have been nearly as successful without his 12 carries a game, and presence otherwise. He also caught a good number of balls. Obviously I'm biased to an extent and am a bit too young to fully remember Cadillac and Brown but McFadden and Jones put Chubb and Michel in a body bag.

They were fun to watch. I would have liked seeing those two in this O.

Wrong answer, but no national title in any event.

USC national champions, as decided by the following...

2004 USCc 11–0d A&H, AP, B(QPRS), BR, CCR, CM, DeS, DuS, ERS, MCFR, MGR, NFF, NYT, R(FACT), SN, SR, W
Vacated:c BCS, FWAA, USAT/ESPN

college football national titles... LINK

and their rational, at the time, was Okl. and USC started the season as #1 and #2 and didn't lose. Hell, one of your gump voters didn't even put Auburn in their final regular season top 25 ranking............doing everything he could to keep Auburn out.

Arkansas still had a better trio. AU’s trio combined for 2333 scrimmage yards, 5.5 YPP, and 25 TDs.
Arkansas’s trio had 4216 yards, 7.0 YPP, and 35 TDs.

Even if you’re looking at duos, 2004 was the only year in which Williams and Brown both had 1K+ yds from scrimmage. McFadden and Jones did that twice. Yes I know injures were involved but then it’s not much of a duo if only one is playing in place of the other.

I counter with this SDS article - LINK

SDS is in the clicks business, give the poor publication what they want.

Because they had a couple of high functioning retards calling the plays in 2003. And McFadden had one of the brightest offensive minds in the country calling plays for he and Jones.

Still not enough to excuse the massive disparity in yardage. Maybe AU’s group would’ve been more successful then Arkansas if they had the same type of coaches but you don’t know that for sure. With Arkansas’s RBs we know they were extremely successful for sure.

Yep... could call it on either player on that play actually because they both lowered their heads to initiate contact.

I loved watching Caddy and Ronnie play. That 2004 team was the start of a stretch of AU football that was a blast.

But I think I’d go with DMac and jones on this one. Both could take it to the house at any time, which is rare. Scary, scary to play against.

So could Cadillac and Ronnie though.

Not really. Speed wasn’t Caddy’s game, but was no one better at dodging tacklers in the backfield, which he did a lot of under Nallsminger in 2003.

My favorite AU player ever.
