This seems rather short-term memory inspired. I liked Auburn's trio of Joe Cribbs, James Brooks, and William Andrews.

Auburn also had Courtney Taylor, Anthony Mix and Ben Obomanu on that same team. LSU fans no doubt remember Courtney Taylor.

And a hell of an offensive line with King Dunlap (NFL), Tim Duckworth (NFL), Troy Reddick (NFL), and Ben Grubbs. Also, Cooper Wallace at TE how made it to the NFL as well.

First round draft pick at QB too.

Oh yeah, also the number 1 defense in the county.

I know most will not agree, but I still say 2004 AU is well within the discussion for the best SEC team ever.

If we are going with best backfield ever, not best duo, it is 1983 AU.

Bo Jackson
Brent Fullwood
Tommie Aggee
Lionel James
Tim Jessie

5 NFL running backs
Two top 2 NFL draft picks
GOAT athlete
NFL all purpose single season yards leader for decades (lionel james)

Etc.

Great article, but for some reason I was bugged by one typo. Brown's play against Tenn where he ran over Jason Allen was in 2004, not 2003.

Stats don't tell the whole story, but here are some stats. Draw your own conclusions.

Duo totals followed by average per year:

1> Cadillac/Brown (2001-2004)
87 1248 6528 5.2 75.0 73
22 312 1632 5.2 75.0 18

2> Chubb/Sony (2014-2017)
94 1348 8382 6.2 89.2 77
24 337 2096 6.2 89.2 19

3> McFadden/Jones (2005-2007)
76 1171 7546 6.4 99.3 61
25 390 2515 6.4 99.3 20

4> Ingram/Richardson (2009-2010)
50 686 3984 5.8 79.7 44
25 343 1992 5.8 79.7 22

5> Henry/Yeldon (2014)
27 366 1969 5.4 72.9 22
27 366 1969 5.4 72.9 22

?> Fournette/Guice (2015-2016)

They had Brandon Jacobs in 2003, but the OL was injured and the oc was garbage. They could've used him in that sugar bowl against vtech..

Indeed. That reason is SDS didn't bother to do any research or work.

Yeah, it's hard to compare stats for a couple of seasons to stats for 4 seasons. But if we're looking at 4 year career duos, Chubb and Michel had most total yards rushing, highest ypc, highest ypg and most TD's. Congrats on 2nd place to Williams and Brown though.
