Ole Miss used home state judge rulings to their benefit. Were they vilified?
Funny, but all of the '22 folks were unjustly treated by the NCAA. None of them actually made an NFL team. They were in tryouts, while their expense were paid with a small stipend. None of them have played a down in a regular season game or paid the league minimum. The NFL took a flyer on them.
"n the NFL, most undrafted free agents (UDFAs) sign contracts that do not include a signing bonus, or include a very small one. If a player is cut during training camp, they keep whatever signing bonus they were paid upfront, but they do not receive a salary for the time they spent in camp."

We're in the SEC and there are backwards hillbillies in every state. It's not unique to Louisiana. Texas has its snare of knuckle dragging mouth breathers.
