I'm glad they locked him down. Keep another crappy SEC team crappy.

Missouri fans will agree with paying 11m for that stat as long as they can make it to a nice bowl game and talk about it, here.

Why not?

Mizzou has been a historically mediocre football program. Most Mizzou fans will accept a football program that wins 7-9 games and makes a meaningless bowl game. If Drink somehow manages to take Mizzou to a CFP game he'll be a fricking legend.

Drink is a solid 8-4 / 9-3 head coach who recruits at historically unprecedented levels for our school and also notched a NY6 bowl win a couple years ago.

God forbid we be happy with what we have. Nebraska had a similar thing going with Pelini and they chose the opposite route...look how that worked out for them.

He is a decent coach. Not good, not bad. But no big time school would ever want him as their coach(fans, not an AD, look at you Stricklin)

I don’t remember anyone wanting LSU to hire Drink. I saw his name on lists of POSSIBLE hires in posts here. But I don’t remember anyone wanting him around.

This stat is pretty silly IMO.

Mizzou beat 5-5 LSU in Covid Year, #23 South Carolina 4-4 in 2022 and should have beat #1 Georgia, still can't believe we lost that game.

In 2023 only 5 SEC teams were over .500 in conference games and 1 of them was Mizzou. They only played 2, and if we're not for Jaylen Daniels we would have beaten LSU. Mizzou had wins over 4-4 #17 Tennessee, and wins over 3-5 Auburn, Florida, South Carolina and Kentucky.

2024 Mizzou was one of 8 teams that finished above .500 in conf, Mizzou played 3 and if Mizzou had beaten either one of them, those teams would have finished 4-4 instead of 5-3.

2025 If the Bama QB didn't play like Joe Montana on 4th down late in the game and Pribula could hit his wide open WR Marquis Johnson late in that game we could have won that game, but lose 27-24. We fall at a 1/2 yard short of tying or going for the win at Vandy after losing starting QB. Hell we played OU tough on the road with Pribula playing at like 60%.

It's not like you play a lot of teams with winning conference records every year.

Mizzou is like our Iowa, they are a pain in the arse to play and always seem to hover around the top 25 but they're never a real threat to be the king of the mountain. Every now and then they might be a top 10 team. Drink is perfect for that role, I think both parties realize this.

His salary is whatever, it's the price of admission in keeping a good or even decent coach.

If Indiana can win, Mizzou can win a National Title

Yes I do. It had to have been a troll and like moths to a flame the lemmings started repeating it.

That’s exactly why he got his pay bump. They were terrified that we’d take him if Lane didn’t come.

They said he’s never beaten an SEC team that finished over .500 and has lost 8 straight to ranked teams. And he’s making 11m a year and a new 62m guaranteed contract??? Had no idea it was that bad. What the hell has he done to justify that contract?

Dink’s agent has earned all his money tying his name to Florida, auburn, and lsu jobs. It’s crazy to me. He’s an average coach…

Yeah, that avg coach is 29-10 the last 3 years....2 of the years his Top 2 Qb's were injured part or all of the season.

Congrats on being slightly better than Brian Kelly who everyone called dog shite (which he was)

Drink isn’t a top coach in the league and never will turn it into a premiere team
