Did Daniels actually earn a degree from LSU? I’m not sure how their rules work but a bunch of schools require you to graduate in order to retire your number. Steph Curry had to take summer/online classes at Davidson to qualify. Wikipedia says Jayden earned a degree from ASU and worked towards a masters at LSU.

Daniels is getting bad advice on this one. His jersey isn't retired. And if you want to say NIL provides "ownership" of a number, schools will eventually run out of numbers. I doubt a judge would even hear the case if they decide to file.

Reasonable take from Burns. Kiffin doesn't owe Daniels any allegiance, but he also doesn't owe Burrow any allegiance. Will be interesting to see if he gives out 9 over the next few years.
Kiffin isn't really big on caring much about how things were prior to his stops. He didn't care about the Mannings for instance, which was reciprocated. Not saying he's wrong for it.

LSU cannot use JD5 in any way, shape, or form to promote it's football brand. This could be using highlights or info in recruiting, game promotions, etc.
I think general declarations like "two Heisman winning QBs" is fine as long as his name/picture aren't used.
