I came to ask how the watch people here feel about the new Swatch X AP collaboration. Seems like they are maybe getting ahead of the knockoffs.

NASCAR is decent entertainment when they actually race each other. The other 70% of the race where they are riding around in a line only using 40% throttle to save fuel is boring.
MotoGP sprint race from Lemans about to start on FS2
It’s definitely an improvement over the little joycons that come with the switch. I don’t remember mine being $80 tho.
I think that’s how it works. In NFL they get paid per game and they have to pay taxes in the state where the game is played. Yearly salary divided up into 17 pay checks. California charges “duty days” so they tax players a percentage of their salary for every day they are in the state. Teams that made the Super Bowl spent almost an entire week in the state. For a couple of the very highly paid, their tax bill for the week was higher than the bonus they got for playing.

I don’t think they have to pay these types of taxes for the middle eastern races. Prolly hurts their bottom line losing two of them this year.

No different than states with NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA.

I knew about this but I thought it mainly only applied to their game check for that week. I know California wants taxes on 1/365th of your yearly earnings for every day you spend there working which is the same thing I guess but California is a 13% tax rate and the UK is 45% based on a google search I just did. Never been to the UK or California.

I saw a video of the golfer Kevin Kisner talking about playing the British Open. He said it’s not worth playing in the UK because of the taxes. Said the UK tries to tax them on 1/52nd of all their sponsorships for the week they are there. I’m sure it’s the same for F1 drivers with maybe even more sponsors.
Talk of a return to V8s is picking up steam. Won’t be for several years but at least the powers that be are saying the right things.

?? Toto on the Possible Return to V8 Engines :

??? “Long-term, I think from a Mercedes standpoint we are open to new engine regulations. We love V8s, that has only great memories. From our perspective it's a pure Mercedes engine, it revs high.”

- Toto highlighted the importance of staying connected to the real world :

“How do we give it enough energy from the battery side to not lose connection to the real world? Because if we swing 100% combustion, we might be looking a bit ridiculous in 2030 or 2031. So we need to consider that, make it simpler, and make it a mega engine.”

“Maybe we can extract 800 horsepower off the ICE and put 400 on top of it, or more in terms of electric energy, we're absolutely up for it. As long as those discussions happen in a structured way, people's consideration are being taken on board. We recognise the financial realities of OEMs these days.”

“We don't have it easy, but if it's well planned and executed, we Mercedes, count us in to come back with a real, real racing engine”
The sky sports feed is the feed ESPN always aired right? With Martin Brundle and Crofty?
They should not penalize Charles for finishing the race.

Several other decisions should have been made during the race.
Good race. Surprised Lando couldn’t get any closer to Kimi.

Love the Dan Marino statue being front and center for the podium celebration.
Charles deserves a better car. If Ferrari ever gives him a winner he will make the most of it
Wild start, this probably doesn’t help with the rain.

Is Ferrari strategy gonna get this right?

Damn Lawson tagged Gasly
Crazy how quickly things can change. Red Bull on the front row seemed impossible a few weeks ago. McLaren on the front row seemed like a lock after this morning.

Williams has been a huge disappointment this season. Vowles is lucky Aston has taken the spotlight. I think Carlos has lost a lot of faith in them too.
