They must have turned their engines up a notch. George was faster in sector three than Lewis even with a yellow flag lift.

So he managed to lift for the yellow and still get pole? And he wasn’t even close to Kimi most of the weekend.

Aston Martin being a full second slower than Cadillac is wild. They had a disastrous start to the season but it’s surprising that they haven’t been able to do anything to fix the car yet.
Williams ability to get eliminated in Q1 with the best engine package should be a bigger story. They built a bad car.

Do you think they notice something like that in real time? Is Sir George whinging on radio about getting flipped off or does he find out later from social media?

If tweet fails to load, click here. Max's manager: "We do need a package that allows us to compete at the front. That has always been the foundation. We feel at home at Red Bull, but we do want to be competitive. Ultimately, Max wasn't born to compete in the midfield."
"We now have the time to focus on the performance of the car. That has nothing to do with leaving or not leaving. We just want to see where we stand and how the car is developing. And that means we don't have to say 'yes' or 'no' right now. We have agreements and we are sticking to them."

I’m sure it is quite expensive to have a car shipped to the island, and since most of the people can’t leave the island shopping for a new car is probably hard also.

I don’t think they will. I saw something a week or so ago saying that Cadillac would have to make changes to their car to fit the new engine so they might be a couple races behind Ferrari. I don’t think they are in a position where the engine is the only thing holding them back yet.

They announced a heat advisory for this weekends race.
Checo: “I don’t want to use the cooling vest, I’m Mexican so for me this isn’t that hot, I find it funny how the Europeans are worried about the heat, for me this heat is normal.”

I'm still not convinced Red Bull has the strongest engine right now.
I don’t think it’s too far fetched that Ford built the engine with the most horsepower. I’m not sure they should be measuring horsepower by itself tho when the battery is such an important part.
Honestly I think Redbulls biggest problem right now is the chassis tho. They have been over weight and hard to drive for a few seasons now. I think the racing bulls is an easier car to drive.

I think I’m gonna drink the Ferrari koolaid. Felt silly typing that out but I think this is their year. New engine supposed to add 5-15 horsepower now and then they have another engine upgrade coming later this season. It’s time for Charles to step it up. He is 40 points behind Lewis already, Lewis is 41 behind Antonelli.

That’s just par for the course for George this year. Mercedes has supposedly diagnosed their reliability issue as heat related, gets worse when they are following close behind another car. Doesn’t seem like they have an easy fix so this could really hurt them going forward.
Also have seen a few reports that Ferrari will have their new engine this week. Cadillac prolly won’t have it yet tho.

A couple of seasons of toiling around in the back of the pack has Carlos Sainz ready to reinvent formula 1.

Digging in was my thought also. Didn’t they mention getting into the chamber, sealing the door, and using a talisman to keep the monsters out?
I saw it finally got picked up by Netflix. That should massively increase the viewers. Maybe they can use some of that money to increase their wig budget.

I don’t know if all the new engines sound like this but, this one sounds like trash.

Was a great episode, sucks we have no idea when the next one will air.
I wonder if all deaths on the island count or if they have to be sacrificed in that dungeon. There was other deaths this season that could count towards the bell tolls. The shaman got sucked into the sky and multiple people were killed by the boogeyman.

Pretty good article about how they are now using the tire rims to cool the tires.
Wheel rimes are no longer a standard component (they were in the ground effect era) and teams have been working closely with their partners - in this case Ferrari uses BBS - to perfect designs for maximum performance.
As well as weight and rigidity being important, there is a big push in using airflow, convection and heat dissipation to keep tyres as cool as possible.
And it's become an important area of development because the gains can be so big.

At this moment I think Mercedes is still the favorite, but I like having Hamilton being the guy chasing Antonelli for the title.
There are rumors Ferrari will have an updated engine as soon as Austria. Supposedly it’s completed and bench tested, just waiting on the official ok to start using it. If they get a bit faster on the straights and can keep their cornering speed they will have the best car on track.
I think right now today both Ferrari drivers are better than the Mercedes drivers.
