You can't judge him in year one. He'll do good but not great things and AU will start to get tired of him just like they did with Malzahn.

We played UGA and Ole Miss close and had a very very good shot to win both games. A mildly competent QB/O-line and we may win both. Then this is a while different conversation.

Auburn just doesn't have the talent on offense to score points. I expect Freeze an fix that come next season.

Don’t forget to throw an OLine in there. Guess it’s sort of hard to recruit when the boosters are trying to set you up or prove you are having an affairs so they could fire with cause.

Tell us who the hell else they could've hired at the time?

That shite w/Harsin last February was a fiasco, because he was a dead man walking until his termination. Auburn needed Freeze and Freeze needed Auburn, plain and simple.

The chips were down before Freeze ever even got an offer. Yeah, we suck this year, but we were going to suck no matter who the coach was.

Freeze is recruiting at a high-level, and he is dealing with what he has in the barn. My only question is why he is so fascinated with Payton Thorne. Thorn sucks, and I can’t figure out why he keeps trying his noodle-armed arse onto the field, I think we will be fine long-term, and I don’t know any Auburn fan who is panicking, but I do think it will take longer than people first thought.

We have no depth and no SEC quality receivers, or QB on the roster. I am frankly amazed that our defense is as good as it is. We’ve got a few studs back there that are keeping it together. Jaylin Simpson, Marcus Harris, Kionte Scott, Donovan Kaufman.

No. Good lord people react too quick. He was left a shite situation and it’s going to take time to rebuild.

His issue is that he can no longer cheat like he used to.

No, they didn’t. I will say that Freeze just seems tired and worn out already. Definitely don’t see the energy from him, but could easily be him aging and just the losing tax.

Auburn was always going to suck this year. The difference in talent between Auburn and their rivals is as great right now as it has ever been. We won't really know if Freeze was the right guy for them to hire until like 2025.

Freeze took over a roster mess left behind by the previous two staffs. Some of it is their power booster’s fault. Auburn couldn’t recruit the last two cycles with Malzahn because the worst kept secret in the SEC is nobody was happy with their president and interim AD panic signing Malzahn to an extension. Similarly, Harsin came in with zero recruiting ties and the power boosters didn’t like the hire from the outset. The AD wanted to make his hire, so the boosters once again pulled back support.

Freeze is going to have to recruit like a mfer to rebuild this roster to upper-end SEC quality.

Not even close to the disaster he took over from Nutt at Ole Miss.

He was competitive his first year. Of course he went and got Bo Wallace. He missed in the portal, plain and simple.

OM 2nd and 3rd team qb would start for Auburn.

NIL struggling at Auburn, he can't miss at QB again or it will be a repeat.

Freeze is a good coach,

False.

11 years later and he's still trying that dumbass backwards double pass (The Treadwell Pass) that had a 0.001% success rate at Ole Miss, but that didn't stop him from trying it every. single. game.

He's a stubborn, prideful a-hole and he will tank their program.

Good Lord, haven't we learned not to judge a coach based on one (partial) season yet?

No it isn't.

They opened up the "30 in 3" drive last fall ($30MM in 3 years) and got over $15MM in the first month.

I think their roster was pretty depleted after the way the Auburn admin acted with their previous coaches.

At a normal school, I'd say he should get a pass for this season as he tries to build the team back up. This is Auburn though, so who knows if they'll give him a reasonable amount of time or not?

Freeze is a decent coach and great recruiter. His offense at Ole Miss did good because it was semi unique. That was back when half the SEC schools still ran outdated offenses. Now that every school is running some form of the spread, his offense isn't anything special and his play calling is average.

Welp... bringing up Brandon Miller in a thread about barn football is the definition of BAMA-hating cultish behavior.

It's a heavy job, more so than any job he's ever had and he's like 12 yrs older than when he started as HC at OM.

He's looks worn out & haggard from recruiting his arse off, managing a coaching staff & shaking hands to raise funds for NIL.

I love this Auburn lie as well. You can go back to 1951 and see that every Auburn coach besides Harsin got at least 4 years. Chizik got 4 and was fired when he completely lost a grip on reality. Tater Tot got 5 and resigned. Every other coach got at least 8 years.
