Florida running back Jadan Baugh took responsibility for his rough performance in Saturday’s 45-17 loss to Missouri.
Baugh texted head coach Jon Sumrall on Sunday to apologize after being held to just 13 yards on 12 carries.
> “I’m sorry, coach. I won’t let that happen again. I didn’t play my best,” Baugh told Sumrall, according to ESPN.
Baugh entered the game with 600 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns through Florida’s first four games, including at least 130 rushing yards in each contest.
Missouri shut him down after a 12-yard run on his first carry, holding Baugh to just one yard on his final 11 attempts.
Sumrall said Monday that the loss wasn't solely on Baugh.
> “We didn’t do enough to help him as a team on Saturday in my opinion, and I don’t think he was his best either.”
Florida will look to bounce back Saturday at home against South Carolina.
