It began with so much promise. “ we getting Urban, Stoops, Mario, or Freeze”. Now, “ I hope Bill Clark doesn’t turn us down”. Lol

Auburn is having the same issue Ole Miss had after firing Luke. The boosters all wanted another yes man and that was Mike McIntyre. They pushed for him to be hired and our newly appointed AD, Keith "9inch" Carter, told them to either get on board or frick off then went and hired Kiffin.
Auburns AD needs to do the exact same thing

He probably won’t have full control. That’s why boosters will probably tell him who to hire etc.
Auburn's board will never let a coach have full control; hell, they walked the sidelines when Tubs was there.

Ppl OUTSIDE of your fan base ridiculed y'all for hiring Sam Pittman.
It's usually not a good idea to take the side of the least educated.

It's a MUCH better job that Auburn.
Easier to recruit at LSU. AU competes primarily with Bama and UGA and Nick and Kirby are taking what they want.

I love ya, girly. Ignore what I'm saying to this one Arkansas fan in the thread. It had to be done.
I actually like Arkansas but damn he needs to stop while he's ahead.

I actually liked the balls y'all had to hire him. I like Sam Pittman. But for that one Arkansas fan to ridicule us taking the same kind of chance with Shane Beamer is more than a little hypocritical.

Huh? Ppl OUTSIDE of your fan base ridiculed y'all for hiring Sam Pittman. Why the frick would I search your post history to find that when you ARE an Arkansas fan?
And there sure are a bunch of butthurt pussies on this board these days. Too many limp dick mf'ers now. I miss the old days when this board was actually fun.
Don't feed the trolls CG. It is bad for your blood pressure.
Now I remember when we hired Pittman we caught an awful lot of flack for it and quite a few Arkansas fans weren't thrilled. It worked out for us better than most thought it would though.
As for Beamer, as I have said, it seemed a bit of surprise at the time but he does have ties to the area and a family name that recruits will recognize. Until he actually is the head coach for a game I'll with hold judgment. Potentially he could be a very solid hire for USC because the key to building up the program is to do what Clemson has done and recruit the Mid-Atlantic area and Beamer seems like he could do that for you.
Now... Napier and Auburn. Hmm. Well.
Arkansas had a real issue attracting big name coaches because Chad had burned the program to the ground. Auburn has some personnel issues but the program isn't on life support. You can step into Auburn and probably have success the first year. Maybe not an SEC championship but success.
To have a good coach at smaller school look at your offer and say thanks but no thanks... that is a real concern for Auburn. I'm not saying that to knock my Auburn buddies. I'm saying that where the program is right now it should be the best job that is open in the US at the moment. Y'all should be turning coaches down, not the other way around.

Auburn people be big mad.
I would be too. Imagine Alabama pulling Nick Saban away from an NFL team that wanted to keep him in 2007, after a decade of relative mediocrity and losing 5 in a row to the cross state rival.
And Auburn can't pull a P5 coach.
It's so good to be king. Auburn is always searching for some mythical parity with Bama, and every once in a while we get news like this that reminds everyone of the pecking order.
Wear it, Barners. 42-13
