had not heard this. So UF boosters tried to strong arm a 2 time MNC HC and wound up running him off? If true, holy shite

Wouldn’t be the first championship coach we ran off.

Without a plan yes. If they would have had a plan it would make sense. 8 years is a long time. They are fools for having no ironclad plan.

I think they did have a plan. Then that plan leaked and the fanbase lost its collective shite.

Thing is, keeping Steele as DC would actually be a good move. He’s definitely a top 5 DC, nothing wrong with auburn D since he got there, it in fact carried auburn to any recent success they had.

Oh, he's a good DC that has done well there. The problem is that he supposedly had been working behind the scenes with the "money folks" to poison Gus' position, and prop his position up. No coach wants anyone like that on their staff.

If Steele was the plan yikes. I thought that was just one booster who got override. Just hire Leopold Auburn and turn this shite around. Dudes a great coach.

100%. Steele had solidified his relationships with Rane, Lowder and the boys, and the plan to overthrow Gus finally happened. It just happened that when it was leaked that Steele was the plan, the fans rioted and forced an actual search.

Too bad for the fans that the same folks that overthrew Gus for Steele are the same folks that will ultimately make the hire.

Gee.

Don’t let the boosters run the program.

What a novel idea....

My guess is he’s hoping LSU or Texas has a job opening next year.

I can see LSU, but the UT boosters are like the Auburn ones on steroids.

Yes I did. But Woodward won't be the AD if Orgeron is let go. He was given the carrot of University President to move to LSU

Woodward is a great AD, with bigger aspirations

Sure thing. I know a couple of the LSU boosters that offered the carrot, but that may be too much for a simple t-shirt fan to grasp. I have faith you will eventually understand the implications

If Coach Napier doesn't want boosters meddling in his operations, then Texas ain't the place he wants to be.
