Per Cole Cubelic on his show just now. Cole is indicating that Napier was not comfortable with the booster involvement and that the boosters may not have been willing to give him full control.

Wonder why he would turn down the Auburn job. Huge upgrade to one of the best football programs in the conference and country? Doesn’t make much sense

Could be stipulations about staff decisions or they are trying to get him cheap or without a buyout.

It does when he is told what staff members he will be forced to keep if he accepts the job.

I guarantee they tried to force him to keep Steele and the defensive staff and Napier didn’t want that

Cole stating as a matter of fact that Napier wasn’t comfortable with the booster involvement.
