No.

They just play a more popular sport.

if you don't then you're gonna have to also admit that Saban doesn't deserve that $9 Million per year, "he just happens to coach a more popular Sport"

Oops you left yourself exposed, that's gonna leave a bruise

Still wanna stick with your "they play a more popular sport" bullshite?

If so apply that same ideology to the big Money coaches

Saban coaches a more popular sport.

Why are you against these kids getting paid for their services?
CFB is an internship. Lots of students work for free in many fields of study in order to learn the ropes and get placed on a fast track to a job that pays well above the pay grade for most. I can damn well promise you a very low percentage of football players (regardless of race for you idiots who would go there) would have the ability or even the opportunity to make NFL level money any other way.

So stop acting like they are being taken advantage of. They are not. No more so than the rest of us who "do all the work" while the CEO of our companies rake in huge money. That's life.

Yes there is

Extremely extremely rare, but there is

Stingley is a perfect example. 1st team consensus all American at Corner back at 18 years old. We would absolutely have made a team right out of high school

Now, I know upvote/downvote isn't the end-all-be-all, but when you're trending 98%+ on downvotes, you may want to take a step back and consider the fact that you might be really stupid.

Why can't he just take a step back and consider the fact that he needs to find a damn ACC board or a GaTech board to spew his pablum?

Not a chance, he wasn't even the best true freshman in the conference

So what you're saying is that you believe Bo Nix will be drafted ahead of Stingley. You should call Vegas and put down some big money.

can't speak to stingley since i didn't watch much football last fall for obvious reasons.

but DMAC and adrian peterson could have definitely skipped college and gone pro and probably should have had that option.

I root for the jersey and whoever is wearing it. If the current player doesn't want the job there are plenty waiting in line. If I had gone to Harvard or Yale, I would have just as much fun watching those games as I do the Gators.

No , you're lying, even if you had gone to Harvard or Yale, you wouldn't give a shite about Ivy League CFB

You're likely from the South and if you were a Student up there you never would have attended an Ivy League Game under gray skies, you would've found a Sports Bar and watched SEC Games or National Games from Noon to Midnight

It's cute to auto-disagree with everything I post, but claiming that you would've enjoyed Ivy League FB as much as Gator FB is going too far

Its simple. The top corners every year are drafted early and start right away in the nfl

Stingley was already the best corner in college football last year. He could have been in the nfl at 18

Peterson and Dmac are other good examples

You can’t have it both ways.

You can get 50/50, which MLB, NBA, and NFL players don’t get...

But you don’t get , your tuition paid for, your books paid for, your room paid for, your food paid for, no open table, pay for your own Tudor, your own travel, your own work out clothes, and have it all taxed...

You can’t have everything you get AND 50/50 revenue.....

You want to get paid, you want to be an employee, fine!!!

When you fumble twice in a game, you can be fired!!

Just ran the numbers for ole miss and it’s roughly 285 million off tuition alone.

And that doesn’t include dorm and cafeteria fees, and government subsidies from the state awarded on a per capita basis,

Hmm I wonder why?

Players = student-athletes

Coaches = employees

The labor force includes both, but the model has always paid one with. Salary and the other with scholarship and other perks.

That is the model. Players are no more exploited now than at any point. There is just much more money, so players are changing a narrative to attempt to get their Perceived share.

It isn't hard. CfB still exists and people still watch if the athlete on the field ends up being a little slower or capable than the ones we have now. I'd rather watch a young group of men who want to be there and fully appreciate the opportunity... without an added sense of entitlement. They are 18-22 men. Frame it as an internship if you want; they are receiving much more value than is fair to the average student working multiple jobs and incurring 60k+ debt just to get through school. Pay your dues now and get paid later.

It may even improve the quality of the game.

Almost everyone who gets drafted early starts.

Maybe but no team is gonna waste a high draft pick unless he can step on the field
and start immediately. They're wasting money developing any one.A 18 year old starting CB is a TALL order.

can't believe you used the internship example -- P5 CFB isn't an internship

The 70 P5 Colleges combine to gross $5 Billion Dollars each year, that's big business, using the "internship example" is unfair

You have more than reading comprehension difficulty, you simply have difficulty. There are top 100 employers and fortune 500 companies using internship positions every damn day.

And its proven to help persons be better equipped to handle many jobs and be more productive in them.

Who told these stupid players they’re worth $250k a year?

The whole football program brings in $41M. They have 125 players. That would be 3/4ths of their football revenue.

Regardless of bullshite "titles" the players are clearly at the center of this entertainment enterprise where the 70 P5 college gross $5 billion yearly from FB

Calling them student Athletes doesn't PREVENT them from getting LARGER STIPENDS, the only thing that prevents that is outdated closed minded assholes

Once again with the bullshite comparisons, 85 scholly FB Players on SEC campuses generate $50 million in TV-Radio Money, not to mention all the other money they generate

Take any 85 undergrads and at any other P5 school and calculate what they generate revenue wise, paying tuition isn't generating Revenue for the school like TV-Radio Money so don't keep doing the stupid comparisons
