they just have more money, and they're buying kids out of the south that otherwise would have been at an SEC school. that's the game. spread parity and set up betting sites. Gin up interest in places that never really cared before, profit.

College football used to be about pride rooted in tradition and belief that your school is just better. If it’s just a competition to spend the most money on the best roster, who cares?

They’ve replaced the sport we grew up with. It is what it is. College football is gone with the wind. Ain’t nobody looking back again.

If by stronger competitive spirit he means full-blown cheating scandals like stealing the other teams' plays and having the head coach suspended for numerous games like Michigan did in 23, he is right.

Michigan's NC should be thrown out. Ohio State and Indiana were legit though. They just ended up having the best teams. They have improved and they have a winning record over the SEC over the past 3 years, so they get bragging rights. The SEC winning the NC every year was getting boring, so it's best for college football have some competition with the SEC.

Players were getting paid by the SEC long before it was legal. Now that other teams can openly do it, it is hard to compete with northern money. To take an SEC saying, it doesn’t just mean more, they just have more (money).

he's not wrong, it's just not the best wording. Those B1G schools have to be more invested to get players to come out of the south away from LSU, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Texas, etc. Granted, some would go anyway just for a change of scenery but the majority are gonna stay close to home without some major incentive.

You’re telling me that schools like Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Mich State, Minn, Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers, UCLA, Washington, Wisc are more invested than most SEC schools? GTFO Kirk. The only ones really investing up there are Ohio St and Indiana.
