re: SEC permanently suspends Ken Williamson after Auburn-Georgia review
Posted by 3rddownonthe8 on 10/24/25 at 8:25 am to Lexis Dad
What’s interesting is no information from the SEC office. Unlike OU game where 2 days later there was an apology. This most likely means that Ken has been under scrutiny for a while; hence his announced retirement. The AU- UGA was just the final straw. While there may have been 9 verified mistakes; he wasn’t suspended just for this game. You can’t suspend someone for getting old and slow. Thats the reality of it. My guess is they won’t ever tell you the 9 infractions, because they were more likely the late stoppages, the missed PIs, and the Timeout craziness. Remember Birmingham reviewed the goal line fumble, cause that’s what it was, for 15 mins almost. The play stood. So there will be no apology for that play, because they got it correct. Whether you want to admit or not. Rember Williams didn’t make that call the line judge did; he was just notified for it to go to review; when Bham took over.
They suspended him because his crews were making mistakes under his watch and he was not communicating the way he should; because he’s gotten old.
Any other nonsense , illogical theory is just that; conspiracy tin foil at best!

It’s still not reviewable and off sides / NZ is missed all the time in every game, multiple times.

Offsides / NZ is not re-viewable and is not the Refs call, it’s the line judges call as is the TD or not a TD.

Well. The math is just wrong. If the UGA TD was given as it should have been. Then the halftime score most likely would have been 10-7; nit 10-3. Dawgs scored 17 in The 2nd half. So the final should have been 24-10; it would not have been 27-10.

You don’t know he can’t win a title in Oxford. Is it harder than Florida; absolutely. I think he can do it there.

He can’t retire there? Once he retires?
Why does he have to be spurrier at UF ?why can’t he be Kiffin at Ole Miss?
The thing is he can never be spurrier at UF, SOS won the freaking Heisman there.
If he wins the Natty at Ole Miss they won’t just build a statue; they might just rename the School, or change the mascot, or change the name of the town.

He may leave; he maybe un-stoppable at Florida. He may want that. They may give him a lifetime contract as the highest paid coach in the country.
Even so; he should stay at Ole Miss. Given his past, just laid out in a documentary. Everyone praised him for opening up. What he has done to 180 his personal life, how the people of Ole Miss and Oxford have embraced him.
Why do that to yourself? Why put your self inside a toxic (Florida isn’t the only one, there are plenty in this league; including my school UGA) fanbase like that? When you are happy!
He might leave; I would not!

Provide legitimate source this happen or it didn’t happen!

Everyone should rember just because you get either 3 or 2 hard teams annually or you get easier. You still have to play 6 other teams in a conference where 12-10 will be in the top 25?At any time. The road isn’t easy any direction

And if you win you can be moved back in. However, the data is. You hit houses by FSU and beat a Wisconsin team that got smoked by Maryland, it OSU, not Oregon; Maryland. Basically the same outcome. If you weren’t Alabama you would be out of the poll, so would Texas. It’s part of the pre-season issue. I wish they were fully eliminated, but the Networks need the rankings to promote the games. It’s the same with ND, and if you believe( and I do not know your stance) they shouldn’t be ranked; then neither do the Horns or Tide. I understand this is how it’s always been, but it’s time the polls to be more fluid or be eliminated.

I’m a huge UGA fan Probly longet than you’ve been a Bammer.
Your answer in no way, gave any evidence that they should only it’s early in the season. What have you done in the field. Absolutely, nothing to this point. Give me data, actual data that says you belong. By the way I didn’t say Auburn belonged, I said why does Bama or Texas belong anymore than Auburn. The fact you don’t have an answer, is flat out proof they don’t!

Serious question. Hopefully answered by thoughtful insight.
What has Alabama or Texas done THIS YEAR, to be in the polls over Auburn?

re: Why is what OU did to Auburn even a penalty?

It’s because of all the substitution rules. Specifically with race-car offenses. You have to be obvious with your substitutions, so the ball can be properly spotted and clock ran. The offense already has an advantage with no substitutions and defense being able to run subs in and off. You think it’s right to now take substitution.
Doesn’t matter that ole miss got away with it; that was missed as well; just no one caught it.
I’d be fine with a rule saying no one can be lined up outside the numbers, even though I’d admit would be extreme.

This isn’t a misses hold or PI, that’s a part of football. This is a missed procedure call; there is a side judge for this reason. This is not doing your job, it’s not a subjective thing; it’s pretty black and white.

It was 2nd and 22! It would have been a 2nd and 37 outside FG range. It completely changes the game.

Maybe you should cut the OL that jumped 1st. Or maybe all the Defense that blew a 14 point lead and an 8 point lead. Just saying!!

You are flat out looking through Orange glasses. Syracuse took a huge step back offensively.

Since you have details.
Let me ask this..
Based on NCAA rules; if it had not been found out and he played, in eligible for the 1st half. It appears not only would they ( NCAA ) have forfeited the game, but he would have then had to miss the next 2 half’s of football and the offending Head Coach would receive double the suspension. It’s pretty clear in the rules if eligibility. That would have sucked to it come out after the game.
