Texas is a virus. It spreads and destroys. Texas will frick up the SEC if allowed.

Like any virus, keep it contained.

It really is a desperate maneuver to try to get back to relevancy before it's too late.

Many of us had a go at the Aggy response. It has been a monumental melt that will go down in conference lore.

But Texas. Girlfriend. Desperate is the right word. While hardly any of us want you, watching the flaccid Longhorns bend the knee to the SEC barbarians is glorious. Win, lose, or draw, you will never forget. And if you do, there will be legions ready to remind you.

If what Texas is aspiring to be is A&M that is sad. A&M hasn’t accomplished shite. They haven’t even been a factor in the conference race one single time since joining, much less winning even their division.

A). Where did A&M pass Texas on?

B). NIL changed the playing field. You are a fool if not recognizing that.

Of course Aggy was gaining ground in football by having the SEC brand to sell, so we're doing something about it and you can't do anything to stop it. Y'all sure are projecting a lot of fear of a team "that will be lucky to go 6-6 in the SEC." Take a midol and have a seat

we don’t have to deal with in-state sibling schools.

But ducking and claiming we have everything to lose and nothing to gain is just fine. Sorry, but that’s pathetic as well.

First time I’ve ever heard this. I’ve only ever heard how Oklahoma fans are pretty arrogant

I think we’re letting Texas’ awfulness make us look at OU with crimson and cream goggles. They’re not exactly the most humble either they just have a little more hardware recently to justify it.

Everything you said is dead on with the exception of what A&M has accomplished. While being very average on the whole since joining, even with Sumlin, they have fielded better teams in the SEC than they did in the Big 12. More importantly, their brand (hate the term, but it is today's reality) and national exposure has improved exponentially. They are in a much better position than they were 9 years ago.

When you consider the longhorn's attitude those last 9 years, to move to the SEC now does look really pathetic. They are the epitome of the lazy arse rich kid who pays people to hang out with him. That said, no one can argue that it isn't a smart decision to join the SEC.

Texas is 2-4 vs Arkansas as an SEC team. Even the fat drunk that was our coach in the last meeting stomped your sorry asses. In Texas.

This right here alone is why I want Texas and OU in the conference. I mean, by being here, it shows we are passionate about college football. What is more passionate than two teams 100 miles apart who absolutely loathe the thought of each others existence playing their first game in 10 (Or more?) years for the first time in nation's best conference?

One thing that hasn't been discussed here much is how the Texas fan base views this move. I am assuming the overwhelming majority of you feel it is a good thing? Probably even a necessity?

I have lived in Houston for thirty years and know dozens of Horn fans, and nothing personal, but my perception of the Texas fan base is apathy when compared to SEC fans. Perhaps the last 10 years of being irrelevant nationally has warped my outlook of you guys, maybe being in the SEC makes everyone else look less rabid? I just don't see a lot of passion from Texas fans. Is that a fair assessment?
