To be fair, all white people look alike hence the confusion and mix up.

Too bad, if Ukraine had been more isolationist maybe this wouldn't have happened. It's definitely a shame Russia wasn't isolationist. Is isolationist a new slur? It's be great to see the Google trend since the war began. Suddenly the establishment is railing against "isolationism" everywhere. If isolationism is bad, what's the alternative to isolation? Intervention of course. War. You're clamoring for war. We are isolationists. You are warmongers. We will just accept both labels and call it fair. But warmongers is really more fair.
Not sure if this was directed at me or to the person who said the quote you were referring to in the post.
My take is people shift from an isolationist to an interventionist position based on the situation. I am willing to bet many Ukrainian Americans would have shared your isolationist position if instead of Russia and Ukraine this was about let’s say India and Pakistan/ China. But this being about their native homeland, they will for sure want their current country (America) to help in whatever way they can. I think this is true with most groups of Americans who share some kinship with the old world.
Article is interesting because Ukrainian Americans per the article are your typical Reagan republicans who were/are more interventionist which is very different from Trump Republicans who lean more towards being isolationist. Not to say most in this group didn’t vote for Trump, they did. Will be interesting to see how this plays out in Ohio if it is a factor at all.

Ukrainian Americans are an important bloc of voters in Ohio, whose Senate race this year could help decide which party controls the chamber.

But isolationist strains in the GOP have rattled some in the community. In 2020, Donald Trump won the heavily Ukrainian Cleveland suburb of Parma — despite his rhetorical resistance to U.S. interventionism and skepticism toward NATO, local Ukrainians point out that he did more than the Obama administration in aiding their ancestral country with lethal weapons against Russian aggression. But other Cleveland-area Ukrainian Republicans publicly backed President Joe Biden.

If the Senate choice is between an engagement-oriented Democrat like Rep. Tim Ryan, who has called for sending Ohio-built tanks to Poland to deter Russia, or a Tucker Carlson-style Republican like Mandel, Marko doesn’t know whom he will pick. He regularly watches Carlson’s show, on which the host has declared Ukraine “strategically irrelevant to the United States,” questioned why the United States should side with Ukraine over Russia, and wondered “why the emphasis [in Washington] on Ukraine’s borders and not ours?” Marko says this kind of rhetoric has “gotten his nerves going a little bit,” and that he’s seen Republican friends condemn it on Facebook.

Since you ask…
There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp, and I do not hope for a better world for anyone. In fact, I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape. But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis; my punishment continues to elude me, and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.

From having a Super Bowl championship team.
Auburn officials are expected to announce today they are keeping coach Bryan Harsin.

Auburn football program is like that scene from Groundhog Day
Posted by arp0925 on 2/10/22 at 10:00 pm
Auburn football program wakes up to a new coach only to go down in flames with said coach and then wakes up with a new coach and cycle continues. They should just play “I got you babe” every time they hire a new coach because we all know how it will end. Even if they somehow win a National championship, it ends the same way.
Groundhog Day- Repeated dying sequence
I get coaches get hired and fired all the time. But it seems more often then not with Auburn it always ends with some sort of scandal or drama.
