Aggies: Turkey Day - would you dump LSU for Texas?

Just curious, with DeLoser recently spouting off about playing the Aggies again on Longhorn terms (whatever that means).
Say 5 years down the road, you've built a nice little rivalry game with LSU on Thanksgiving. Texas has a new AD, and they let it be known they'd like to renew the Thanksgiving rivalry with A&M.
What say you?

I'd say "Go frick a goat" and hang up the phone,

I would absolutely hate it if they make LSU play on Thanksgiving. The AD needs to draw a line in the sand and tell the SEC "not happening"

I don't think you understood the OP's question.
Posted on 3/20/13 at 1:54 am to boddagetta
I understood it perfectly, and stated my opinion that I hope we never play on Thanksgiving to begin with

So you responded to the OP with an answer that had nothing to do with the question?
Posted on 3/20/13 at 1:57 am to boddagetta
Why are you concerned about it. It has nothing to do with Auburn.

im all for eventually playing them again, but not on thanksgiving weekend

My bad, you're right. It has more to do with aTm and Texas re-newing their Thanksgiving rivalry. What was I thinking?
Your $.02 regarding LSU playing on Thanksgiving day was a more important contribution to this thread than my input. I stand corrected sir.

Not on his terms or any other.
And yeah, I'm sure he would like to renew it. He took 100+ years of history & tossed it, all in a failed attempt to make a titty-baby, tantrum-laden point. It backfired. We still left. Now he's seeing his threats for what they are/were; and his program is the one that's hurting,
Screw that. And screw playing em in the next 50 years.

Sucks to suck then.

10 years down the road we might consider playing them at Kyle in Sept/Oct. Thanksgiving vs Texas is dead.

What about LSU's Super Bowl with Arkansas?

Poor stolen valor gator, always obsessing about A&M and LSU.

supposedly LSU and A&M are going to start playing each other on thanksgiving (replacing the LSU/Arky game)
I've got mixed feelings if this comes to pass. In some ways it would be cool if LSU and A&M started their SEC schedules off against each other every year... but I understand LSU/A&M on Thanksgiving would be a game that should generate bigger numbers

I'd prefer to play LSU.
Texas can suck a fart out of my arse.

I'd play LSU.
Of course, if the longhorns continue their slide, they could be used as a mid season easier game between the meat of the SEC conference games.

Are you saying USMC Gator is not a Marine?

No. The rivalry has been more intense than ever recently, I think even anti-Aggie SEC posters(mainly piggies and swamp kittens) that live in the Lone Star State have seen their butthurt the last year and it is unreal. To spite us, the teasips have begun to alternate Tech/TCU at home. That is right, no permanent opponent, but every year in Austin. They are doing this for a couple reasons. One, Tech is Tech, and barely a high school that is in constant fear of losing its accreditation. Their students take education about as seriously as State/Ole Miss. Because of this, they have a "fall break" Thanksgiving weekend as a result of so many students skipping that week to begin with. They know they couldn't get students to come back that Wednesday, as Lubbock is 6 hours from civilization. Secondly, TCU has a tiny stadium, and even though they freshly renovated it, their 75% female student body, called for reduced capacity from 1956 levels. That is right. Their stadium has less seats now than it did in 1956.
I don't say, I say HELL NO. They threw a fit. They spearheaded the Pac-16 move. They seem to act like "Texas A&M left", but they tried to, in secrecy, create a Pac-16 deal. Since their greed of tier 3 rights axed that from ever happening, they seem to write it out of the history books.
Playing LSU every year on the same day/weekend when they are playing TCU or Tech? That is a legendary win, and only fuels this rivalry. The butthurt with them grows every day. I've never seen my friends that went to tu so irate over something. You have no idea how this chaps their arse. They had the state on lockdown. It all unraveled so quickly, in a perfect storm of: 11 wins for us, Alamo Bowl for them, first ever freshman Heisman Trophy, Sumlin out-recruiting them(and that not being debatable), Alabama win, SEC #7inarow, LHN being a joke, The Big 12 being incredibly weak, Oklahoma stomping them and our Cotton Bowl domination of the Sooners(which effectively exorcised a crimson and creme demon has haunted us for a decade) that they don't even know where to begin to fix it. Outside of a BCS Title, I don't think this season could have gone any better.
The better question is Mizzou/Arkansas. In 2014, they will begin playing on "Rivalry weekend". Would you dump that for a renewed Border War?
