Who else remembers the Woody Widenhofer defenses?
Posted by RocketBallz on 10/2/21 at 2:16 pm
This years defense reminds me of them. Completely out-manned and running a terrible scheme they can't execute. This may be even worse. :wah:
Something major needs to change. Lets get a college D-Coord in here that understands what his players can do, and what he needs to teach them.

I don't think any pieces from B12 would increase the payouts for any of the remaining P4 conferences. That's the spark you need that just isn't there.
Maybe Tech and ku to the Pac. I'm guessing the elite west coast schools would not be very excited about making trips to Lubbock and eastern kansas.
Their only chance is to catch a ride with ND, Clemson, UNC as an even number (like Mizzou with A&M).

Not all bad. Means we get to watch 2+ more years of stupid realignment takes (like WV and OkSt to the SEC, and ku, ISU to the B1G). Then see the meltdown when the invites never come and the new GOR is signed.
Order some cases of popcorn.

new B12 GOR?

Yeah, I know it's not SEC related. Too bad, frick you.
Anyone seen/heard talk of a new B12 GOR agreement?
As a Mizzou fan I'm looking forward to ku signing a long term GOR in the new B12, and then drinking the tears of beakers who thought they were getting in the B1G.

I like them more than Baylor.

Hopefully Mookie Cooper can get some chunk plays. He got a lot of touches last week and I felt like he was close to breaking off some big plays. Drink just needs to figure a way to get him a little space and he could produce big.
I expect the defense to make a big step forward and play much better. Not at all surprised they played bad the first week with a new D-coord. But I like Wilkes, I think he'll coach'em up better this week.
Or they could play like absolute crap and get blown out by 30. We'll see. I wouldn't bet on this one either way. Gun to my head I take Missouri +5.5 with the more experienced QB in current system.

Mizzou shocks the world and beats UK for the first time in nearly 12 months. Mizzou had a tougher opponent week 1 and is better prepared.

Will y'all please go Josey Wales on these red-legged yankie shits? They've been getting mighty uppity since you last gave them a well-deserved spanking.
Kind of like beating a dead horse, or kicking a sick puppy at this point.
- No longer in a P5 conference
- FB has been D3 level for a decade to be kind (sorry D3 programs)
- Cheating may finally catch up to bball program
- They are now UConn without the big east coast market.
I'd kind of feel bad for them if it wasn't for that nice new airport across the state line.

Still amazing to me so many beakers think the B1G is going to take the worst P5 football program after the SEC nabs OU and Texas. Can you imagine the optics of that for the B1G...

Aggies. Forever grateful for the assist on getting Mizzou out of the previous conference and into the SEC. $$

Maybe after a decade in a non power conference you'll become a better person and can re-apply to the Mizzou board.

Mizzou and Aggie are the benevolent sophomore big brothers showing OU and Texas the way. We want only the best for them.
Now go get your tooth brushes and scrub that ring off my toliet. :spank:

What do you think the odds are any loss OU or tu take this year, the Big 12 schools do the chant to make fun of them?
100%, probably about 4 times per year for Texas, hopefully at least once for OU.
Other pledge requirements - have some class and put working AC in your visiting locker room.

I use to hate ku, but now I just enjoy laughing at them. Thank you Horns and Sooners for screwing ku.
Trying to transition to hating the Piggies. Getting a little tired of their "this is the worst decade we've ever had" excuse. Own it piggies, this is who you are now.

The surprising thing to me in that article was how basketball ratings have been going down so much.
Networks could substitute just about anything, golf, tennis, soap opera and get similar ratings to your avg bball game. That's why it has so little value.

Good read: BBall in CR
UK, I like you guys but don't get a big head about your worth to the conference.
This is why ku is fricked.
