Aubie went ultra conservative in the 2nd half. Malzahn could have ran that score up but he tried not to lose vs trying to win. Auburn was very good and LSu was not good at all. Malzahn learned his lesson and did not play that way the rest of the year. He only lost to UGA because they were beat to shite when they played the SECCG. Gus even said that after the Iron Bowl they were a beaten up team. UGA had played Ga Tech.

Difference was like night and day the second half.

Not really.

Auburn had one drive over 70 yards all game, it was their last TD which came in the 1st quarter. Their first TD was set up by an LSU turnover. In the second quarter, Auburn got a pair of field goals.

The game changed after the 1st qtr, not after halftime. The LSU D made adjustments, and Auburn couldn't adjust their offense. LSU was just clearly the better team.

LSU's Defense really stepped up after the 1st quarter.

Bull shite excuse. Bama D had nothing to do with Bama's O only scoring 14 points.

But is the valid excuse for AU's offense being shut out for a half against LSU? How many of Auburn's defensive injuries were the reason for Stidham completing 9 out of 26 passes?

I didn't start the "we were hurt on defense" excuse. AU fans beat me to the punch way earlier on that.

That game was a growing up game for our team last season.

The OL sustained an injury that changed what we did successful in the 1st quarter. That would prove to be prophetic for the entire season.

The D sustained injuries up the middle that LSU did a good job of exploiting in the 2nd half.

Everyone says Gus went into a shell, but Stidham deserves a ton of blame. 17 RPO's were called in the 2nd half and he gave it to the RB 17 times. The next week it was like he woke up and started taking what the D gave him instead of predetermining his decision. The Stidham we saw the rest of the season was a direct result of the film he watched against LSU.

As is the case LSU caught the breaks. Including the return and the missed tackles on the big play earlier. Congrats to LSU...we may never when in DV.

I'll just say I thought about going home in the first half because it was so god damn hot. I can't imagine how hot the Auburn players were on the east side.

Devin White became an All-American in that game.

After watching the highlights video I don't miss Verne Lundquist one bit.

That middle of October game has been hotter than hell every year I can remember. UF 2013 & Auburn last year in particular. Hoping it's better for the UGA game this year.

Wait! Either what happened on the field matters most, or what happened afterwards does. Make up your minds Aubies.

Gus goes up head to head against Saban every year, and has come out on top 2 out of his 5 seasons. I think every team in the SEC is currently looking for a coach that can have that kind of success against the best team in college football, and I don't think they are that easy to find.

This is true...good point.

can't decide if LSU won it, or did Auburn lose it?

Whenever a big lead is blown it's always both.

The team who's ahead starts playing bad or making mistakes.

The team that's behind fights hard to come back.

It's the only way big comebacks are possible.

Saw a great stat a few years ago that other teams record's the week after they play Alabama under Saban is noticeably much worse than is to be expected.

It's disingenuous to say that only LSU caught the breaks. In that video link it shows Chark catching a long pass for a 1st down and then dropped it while running down the field. That turnover gave Auburn another chance to score more points...which they did.

And you lost. You also got a free pass into the playoffs which helped you rob UGA of a championship.
