Sources say Hoover defended his 81-yard passing performance, allegedly telling teammates, “I threw for 81 yards with one good arm and we still won. If Coach wants 300 passing yards, he can go out there and throw the other 219 himself.”

And probably won’t this year. The SEC is just too tough to get through and have to play a conference championship and multiple playoff games. Miami won’t play anyone of substance until the playoffs. Same with notre dame. Other than each other. Nebraska and Oklahoma made careers out of only playing each other and then their bowl game.

I haven’t heard that and I certainly don’t think so. I don’t and don’t know anybody that wants Lane Kiffin anywhere around Bama. Saban squashed Lane even getting a phone call from Bama and I agree with Nick 100 percent. The Bama job was Lane’s dream but he doesn’t fit with the Bama program.

Crazy as it sounds…and I am the last one to say this 3 months ago…I’m kind of enjoying this season. With the exception of Vandy and Arkie anybody can beat anybody. Bama with a measly 25-30 million dollar NIL just took down a 50 million dollar roster with like 6 former Bama starters who left for more money. 3 teams with half of Oregons roster money have taken them down. Kentucky leading the SEC with an NIL budget even less than Bama’s. Transfer portal has created parity and big money doesn’t necessarily mean big wins.

Ball games are four quarters and in this SEC there are no auto wins anymore. If you win you need to feel good because the SEC is as close to the NFL as any conference because of the parity. Bama beats South Carolina who beat UT who dominated Bama. LSU dominates Auburn who beat UGA. Kentucky just beats the frick out of everybody. It’s crazy as hell.
