I would be ecstatic if we could replace Matt Luke with Charlie Strong after this season.

Gotta replace him with someone. If not we are looking at a 5 yr rebuild vs 3 yr. He sounds like a good man , but we have no foundation of fundamentals. We have wasted so much talent on offense it’s ridiculous and for an SEC team to be so inept on defense is embarrassing.

That press conference today was pretty much every Muschamp presser at UF. It's not going to get better.

All this. I keep hearing about how State is squandering so much talent on defense. We are doing the exact same thing with our offense. Actually, at least State is holding other offenses in check. The fact that we can't really move the ball on anybody very good and even at times those who aren't, is pretty sad. The difference between our defense and our offense should be light years, and yet, they are damn near in the same boat.

Since we are playing fantasy world, can we get Billy Bean as AD and Nick Saban as HC?

Salaries in SEC are higher than Canada. Kent Austin was head coach of a CFL team and left to be freaking offensive coordinator for Nutt. Why is it crazy to think another ole miss guy would leave CFL to be AD especially when ADs here get paid way more than CFL head coaches

I would be fine with that. Just that after reading about Matt Luke's buyout, he won't be fired for 4 more years.

Contracts in the state of Mississippi can't be longer than 2 years I thought

It's four years. I have to deal with that myself.

Who do you coach for? Do you want to be AD?

I'd be a shite coach... probably a shite AD too, but y'all would have fun until they fired me.

Well, apparently, if you are capable of overpaying an unqualified coach and giving him a fully guaranteed contract, you too can be AD at Ole Miss.

I think Luke will do ok if he can get his guys in. I say ok I mean level the program out. 7-8 wins a year. No what I want but that's who he is. Sumrall and Bicknell were good hires. Would like to see what he would do with his own staff. He should have fired McGriff after last season. I've heard he wasnt allowed to die to the money.

How much would OM have to pay McGriff if he's let go at the end of this season?

That should be the question.

I can't imagine any scenario by which McGriff is still on the Ole Miss coaching staff next season. We have the worst defense in the SEC and we're not even close to the team that's in front of us. If for no other reason, he must be replaced in an effort to show that at least the powers that be are attempting to improve upon things. It's not like McGriff would have to go stand in the unemployment line. He can find work or just retire based on what we've already paid him and/or what we'll have to pay in the form of a buyout.

Bill Clark should be our next head coach. Change my mind.
