We really needed a 100th vent thread for lsu fans justifying in their mind that everything is ok and that lane is going to work out.

OC and offensive line coach will determine success more than the RB coach. His job is going to be getting good ones on campus. It will be up to JDB to set them up for success in the offense.

They didn’t want him and are giving up on 5 stars after 300 offensive snaps..

And if he ends up at ole miss it’s because ole miss sucks and is desperate not because he had ole miss as his #2 spot to land out of HS.

He doesn’t seem like a dumb kid. He’d be trading a Ferrari for a Corolla.

Lane runs NFL style offense in the sense that when he has a feature back (Lacy, Judkins, etc) he feeds that back 80%+ of the work especially when they can pass block like Lacy can. So if the kid wants meaningful carries he will jump. I doubt he will be willing to sit a year as the garbage time RB when there are schools willing to pay him to be feature back.
Don’t yall have the beef o Brady’s bowl to get ready for?
Lane did his best coaching jobs at ole Miss when he no pressure or expectations

He did his worst coaching job in 2024 when it was playoffs or bust. Hope he can handle the pressure! Yall have already crowned yourselves offseason national champs.

They were good players but Lsu never recruited them.

LSU is too good for New Orleans players that started 5+ years in the NFL
When on staff at LSU: godfather of New Orleans recruiting

When not on staff: we didn’t need him anyway LSU recruits itself

He has coached at ole miss before when coach o was in Oxford and helped recruit LA kids to ole miss. Ben Jarvis green-Ellis (former patriot) and Mike Wallace (former steeler) come to mind as New Orleans kids that came to Oxford.
Posting bleacher report as a source used to get you banned back in the day.

This place will accept anything as long as it confirms LSU group think.

Multiple players on social media denied it. But sure take this rando with no connection to oxford’s word.

Out of top 15 teams we played, the rebs were the least dominant one we played. Even the Vandy midget had more success against us

But you need all of our players and coaches to win next year. Got it.
Lane retweeted the announcement.

Please go to LSU

Watching Lane spike his headset as Lagway throws his 2nd int vs Clemson in the first half would be must see TV
You don’t like what he said about your coach?

It’s gonna be a long few years if you don’t like people talking about Lane
It should be fun but I don’t think it will be as bad as Lane’s return to UT.

Fans are mad at him but still appreciate what he did. There’s a difference. Ask again after the dust settles from the portal though
The biggest difference IMO is the support from the administration, fans, and more importantly financial backing from the grove collective that Pete is getting. There are tons of elite coaches out there that “suck” because their rosters are bad.

This hire is different for sure. Pete can recruit and knows how to run a program. Matt was learning on the fly without the support of the fans and a half arse administration
More resources than LSU
More tradition
A truer Blue Blood
Bigger snd nicer stadium
More sustainable success
More preferential treatment from college football
Darling of ESPN/CAA

Ole miss will match anyone

It’s hard concept for LSU fans to understand but a higher salary doesn’t guarantee more wins. It’s why your most expensive roster in college football this year got you to 7-5.

If the market value for Pete is $7M why should we pay him more? If he wins big we will bump his pay the same way we did Lane.

AD doubled everyone’s pay in an attempt to keep them from leaving and was unsuccessful with all but two on the offensive staff

**doubled for the post-season. I know collecting all the details not just some of the details is hard.

Y’all are gonna be in buyout shitstorm #3 soon enough
Y’all better not let him sign a 3rd deal next week

I was told by Ole Miss fans that he was begging to go back to Oxford and wasn't returning to LSU.

Y’all just had to overpay to keep him for no reason other than you were feeling generous I guess?

re: Is having kids worth it?

If you’re on the fence the answer is yes

Even if you don’t the answer should be yes for at least 1.

It’s the biggest blessing in the world and you don’t understand until you have your own. No one regrets having kids when they are old and have a house full of grandkids and people that love them that they created.

The money you save and extra trips and things you can buy can’t replace what kids offer.
Chris Kiffin was the coach that infamously let Laremy Tunsil sleep on his couch when we got hammered by the NCAA under Freeze. Crazy how much the sport has changed since those days.
